Same here! I always think of this example, because my parents told me it was the first movie I ever "saw", and it was at the drive-in (with them).

Also that year, the computer microchip was invented.  Bobby Fischer, then 14, won the U.S. Chess Championship.  Packard Cars closed up shop.  Nikita Krushchev became premier of the Soviet Union.  Elvis was inducted into the army.  And a bunch of other stuff, but no "Where were you when..." moments.

So now you know my age.
