We just explained on Skype how that decorated tree clearly visible in the background is our Flag Day tree.

What's still just languishing on your TODO list?

Oh, heavens. "What isn't?" might be the best question....there's a reason I'm only occasionally brave enough to venture onto one of the "accountability"-type lists, like P/A, the laudable monthly writing threads, etc.!

It's all fodder for procrastination.

(Which makes me a real hypocrite for trying to train the student I'm mentoring how to make a weekly homework plan and turn things in on time...)

But alright, I'll play...

At the moment...let's see...

Filing music, left out from the past few performance occasions*

Filing folders from previous classes taught, and

Filing materials in boxes that were moved, opened to find the stuff needed immediately, then stacked for later attention...

...we won't note how many years it's been since the last move....ahem.

Sending off things that I bought in Europe in December for friends and family: those efforts were held up when the broken foot inhibited trips to the P.O. (but it's been better for a few months now...) but the boxes are sitting there, I cooouuuulllddd fill them, at least...

Filing materials used for the past three papers that I might use for the next couple, but would probably find more easily if I filed them...

OK, those are the long-term ones...

And...Ummm...let's see, day-to-day:

practicing on the silent keyboard every day, and

doing ballet barre every AM (I am doing some movement work, but it's not the same)

Getting further ahead on the writing, although I am doing some.

Probably a lot of other stuff that's dropped off the edges of my mind the way the ancient ships were thought to drop off the edge of the world...

                       uuuu|uuuu
                         / / / / / /

(Who used to do this? CGFunMathGuy? Congugate? Another forum thing I miss....interthreaduality...)

* In this area, at least, I have some possible genetic predisposition. My uncle's music was in the same state; he'd played four jobs the weekend before he died and I could just about figure out his playlist from the way my aunt had piled it into the suitcase that my dad held onto for thirty years before HE died and I inherited it. At least, I did file it into boxes by title and part before mailing it all to myself....but then, I had to so we could sell my folks house...and I was still wrapping 78's for storage the morning we were due to be out of the house...having stayed up all night to finish them....)

We have been living in our current place for over a decade.  When we moved in, we had a plumber come out to fix the leaky handles of our shower faucets. The corroded faucet stems cracked off in the walls when he took a look at them, and it would have required cutting through tile to replace them, so we decided we'd just have him pack them with putty temporarily until we remodeled the (5'x7', beige, '70s-'80s) master bathroom.

Guess who still hasn't remodeled the master bathroom?

*EDIT: Just in case there were any question, we *have* showered in the past decade.  The master bathroom shares a wall with another bathroom (also in need of remodeling/leak repair requiring tile cutting) whose shower handles we decided not to "fix".

Basically, I'm having trouble getting anything done at the moment.

Sure.

What are the things that were on the list N years ago and still...

I have a paper that just needs a little polishing and it'll be ready to submit.  The paper has been in that state for six jobs now.  I have published many papers since I originally started that one.  The fall resolution every year is to get that paper polished and submitted during the slow holiday season and yet, it's still in the drawer.

Reviving.

I really, really need to finish grading these tests, but I just don't want to do it!

Maybe it's due to the egregious errors that I found. For example, someone tried to solve an Atwood's Machine problem using Newton's Universal Law of Gravitation. No, Newton's 2nd Law, just a straight-up calculation of the gravitational force between the two masses.

Makes me want to pull my hair out.

I just realized that I hadn't put away most of my winter clothes.

If you're in the northern hemisphere, then you've saved yourself some time as we go into another winter.

That beautifully decorated tree is still visible in the Skype background and has been the Fourth of July tree, the Labor Day tree, and is already in place to be a non-scary Halloween tree with a nice star on top.

The year that a grandparent visited to care for Blocky and took down the tree just before Easter resulted in a lot of jokes that one year we would just be festive all year long.  Apparently, the quarantine year is the year we're festive all year long.  No one needs to mention that our area didn't lock down until mid-March.

And you can hang ittle turkeys on it soon, for Thanksgiving, too!

You just need a little set of marked boxes with different seasonal decorations in each one...

A friend of mine uses those little clementine boxes for stuff like that.

I just picked up the paperwork that slid off the to-be-filed tray. Our 2018 tax returns are now on top of the pile. Maybe I'll file during Thanksgiving Break.

Procrastinating again. Every now and then I'll watch Dr. PP or other grody videos. I just watched a guy have an enormous cyst removed from his arm. Poor guy.

Now that's procrastination.

Interestingly, the "Procrastinator Corner" thread was right next to "I voted," just now. Huh.

My procrastination shows up in multiple delays or avoidances, but I think my most egregious is not exercising regularly.

No problem is so big that it can't be run away from. :-)
