This author explains it with, I believe it's called armchair psychology. The kind he's doing though works best when you put on your racism sunglasses, so you see everything through that issues of race lens. He speculates that black men are attracted to Trump because his kind of disrespectful domination of women is a classic male American trait. One they should emulate in order to have parity with white men.
How many assumptions do you need to arrive at that, I wonder?

Or the more straightforward analysis; they are just being selfish:  https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2020/11/06/abcs_sunny_hostin_black_men_who_voted_for_trump_are_selfish.html

'"I'm not going to say that 50% of Americans are racist and sexist and homophobic but I will say that that tells me that they will look the other way to that kind of behavior, to the plight of their fellow Americans, if personally they feel that they are doing OK and that they will do better under that type of presidency," Hostin continued.

'"And that, I think, is despicable. It is un-American."'

But I think nothing's more American than voting your self interest. And for that matter, what's good economically for the primary breadwinner is also good for the family. And there seems to be only one assumption here, that everyone has the same impression of Trump's many varieties of antisocialness that Hostin has. But I don't believe that.

One of the complaints about people voting republican is they are under informed; they don't know how things work, and they will vote against their own interests. Now here's someone who says voting in your own interest is also wrong.

This article explains it and is full of surprises...https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/nov/14/joe-biden-trump-black-latino-republicans

"What changed in the racial and gender dynamics this cycle to produce these apparently extraordinary results? The truth is, absolutely nothing. These trends have been underway for the entirety of Trump's public life."

...but Bill Maher thinks it's because Democrats are thought to lack common sense. (Can't find the video...sorry). I don't know if he's got it right, but every time he opens his mouth I find myself agreeing. I guess we're frustrated by the same things.

So why did white men swing to Biden?
