So, because of my past sins as an EA and free-lance editor, I get these emails all the time; some are not pertinent but a few seem to be.

Maybe others do, to.

Some may be <<farfelou>> , others useful; this thread is for those occasional sightings of options beyond the teaching horizon that still have a whiff of academic or research-and-writing-related flavor in the air about them.

This is one for two associate editors for the Library Journal:

Others?

We talk a lot about alternative options for instructors with a wide range of backgrounds, maybe this is a way to provide pathways towards those options.

If I didn't already have so much to do, I'd be very tempted by this AP Art History position, designing a course for an online charter school:

If anyone's managed a lab and/or has project management background in another field, like software R/D, this might be a good way to use such a transferable skill set:

This is too good to not share with you all.

LOVE it!  This guy should write the ads for our Admin hires!

I've seen others like this but not as well written, more along the lines of "wimps need not apply."   I've always preferred the job listings on Craigslist for being more realistic versus the other job boards where they are looking for some superhero.  Years ago I had my best success at getting actual interviews from Craigslist postings but I don't find so much there anymore today.

For those with background in financial analysis,

   https://www.indeed.com/m/viewjob?jk=b3aa0c13ff449377&from=ja&alid=5d1001c47ac060722653ec55&tk=1fsd6ganlg7aa800&utm_campaign=job_alerts&utm_medium=email&utm_source=jobseeker_emails&rgtk=1fsd6ganlg7aa800

I might note, this was meant as a thread for serious job posting, for those considering alternative work, not as a place to poke fun at those who may want or need to get off the academic path itself...or to find extra work to complement their earnings.

No issues with humor, per se, but since these fora often suggest the need to be more broad-minded in such cases, it seems a bit disingenuous to turn a site for an intentional posting of options into one that makes fun of those options and, inherently or implicitly, those considering them....

Or would it be simpler to leave this site up for jesting, and start another for actual job posts?

Feedback welcome, of course.

Just to be clear.
