Summery most of the week--autumn weather this weekend.

AmLitHist

It's finally cooled off near St. Louis, just in time for October baseball!

(It was 94 degrees on Tuesday, and this morning it was 51 when I woke up.  Yep.  Must be StL.)

mamselle

Glorious fall day, red tinges to some of the leaves, a bit of yellow on some others.

Perfect for walking around in old burying grounds, taking pictures, and getting an excellent sandwich to eat on the train on the way home (tours are over but gravestone work continues!)

First below freezing temperatures of the season here - had to break the wool coat and warm scarf out of the depths of the closet this morning. Crisp, clear and cold - brrr!

mamselle

Chilly and getting chillier.

But glorious light, leaves, sky, and trees.

Crunchy.

Cold enough for frost on the car in the morning!

paultuttle

Wet and cold. The multicolored leaf carpet everywhere around my parents' house is truly beautiful. Temperatures will increase this week and then fall again for the weekend.

Puget

39 and raining, which is such a lovely combo.
Luckily I planned ahead and could suite up for the walk home from campus with down jacket under my rain jacket and rain pants over my pants. As they say, there's no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing.

We've been buried in snow for the last couple weeks.  Ridiculous ...

mamselle

Chilly and wet enough that when I had to stand outside waiting for the repair truck to come, I caught a cold.

Wet feet do it to me every time, no matter how well-dressed for the weather the rest of me is.

Grrr......aahhh--choo!....

Warm and pleasant today.  Go figure!

Recently, we had the first snow event that I did not have to use slo mo to capture since I moved here a few years ago.  I learned that the area's approach to snow removal is, essentially, wait and hope it goes away on its own, as one might handle a door-to-door salesperson or proselytizer.  It seems as though we are in for a bit more with the next storm.  I guess the whole metropolis would just shut down completely in the event of more than an inch or two.  All I know is I am staying off the roads to avoid the inexperienced drivers, especially those who probably won't adjust their typical poor driving behaviors.

Anselm

Sunny but cold.  Snow coming tomorrow evening.  I wish I could get laid off and then I could be a beach bum in California.
I am Dr. Thunderdome and I run Bartertown.

Sunny for most of the day, but looks like it's getting stormy out there. I like a good storm, and we don't get enough of them out here.

But it sure was nice to see the sun for a couple of days. Before that, it had been weeks.
I know it's a genus.

cloudy, light drizzly rain.
