That's fair. I seldom if ever agreed with Limbaugh, but to go from sports-guy-shock-jock to major national kingmaker is quite a ride.

Beat poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti died yesterday

From "The world is a beautiful place":

The world is a beautiful place
                                                           to be born into
if you don’t mind some people dying
                                                                  all the time
                        or maybe only starving
                                                           some of the time
                 which isn’t half so bad
                                                      if it isn’t you
I wish I could find a way to show people how much I love them, despite all my words and actions. ~ Maria Bamford

Aw, sorry to hear that he is gone.

Oh, one of my all time favorites. What gifts he gave to the world:

From "I Am Waiting":

Quote
I am waiting
to get some intimations
of immortality
by recollecting my early childhood
and I am waiting
for the green mornings to come again
youth's dumb green fields come back again
and I am waiting
for some strains of unpremeditated art
to shake my typewriter
and I am waiting to write
the great indelible poem
and I am waiting
for the last long careless rapture
and I am perpetually waiting
for the fleeing lovers on the Grecian Urn
to catch each other up at last
and embrace
and I am awaiting
perpetually and forever
a renaissance of wonder
