Is it possible to really do an effective teaching demonstration via Skype in 20 minutes?

I did this once, for a VAP. I had fifteen minutes. I don't know how effective it was, but I know that I was runner-up.

It's hard. I made very minimal slides--just some graphics representing information that I wanted to discuss, and the instructions for a small "in-class" exercise. I sent those slides to them ahead of time, and guided them through them in the demo just as I would in class. It's totally artificial and weird.

Oh. I'd advise you to stand and give the demo. If you do, make sure your camera is propped high enough, so that they aren't looking up at you like Godzilla.
I know it's a genus.
