I'm loving it!

And, it's getting dark earlier. Not quite Spitzbergen [Svalbard] in Winter or Tierra del Fuego in Summer. Looking forward to the end of DST [Daylight Saving Torture]. If only there were direct flights between the two.

Cooler and rainy.  Much rainier than anticipated, in fact.  It drizzled almost all day yesterday, and has been coming down pretty steady all morning.  Looks like our drought is now broken.  That's good since our region was starting to have wildfires.
For our light affliction, which is only for a moment, works for us a far greater and eternal weight of glory.  We look not at the things we can see, but at those we can't.  For the things we can see are temporary, but those we can't see are eternal.

We are experiencing A LOT of rain from the incoming hurricane. I hope everyone else in the path is doing ok.

It's been raining for more than 12 hours, so the ground is sodden, and the tropical storm winds won't arrive until later tonight.  I'm eating comfort food and considering placing a bet with myself on how many trees I lose - and, given the wind direction, how many hit the house.  More pragmatic plans include packing the papers, etc. that I don't want to lose so they're easily carried, having basic safety equipment right at hand, and sleeping fully dressed (shoes included) - I'm assuming, of course, that I'll get some sleep.

I've been watching the meanderings of the forecast for a couple of days.  Even with all of our forecasting programs and supercomputers, the weather still holds ugly surprises...

Fall-like for the last three or four days or so. Yet earlier darkness. Wonderful!

A tad icky and humid toady, perhaps the next three days, too. Then Fallish again. Best weather since April!

We can't prevent all good things from happening.
