Just got back to Letter Boxed, after fiddling with it this morning. Am I delusional? It seems that the array of letters is different now. Has anyone else noticed this?

ab_grp

Congrats on your 2fers, ciao_yall! Husband looked crog up after finally guessing it, but I doubt that either of us will ever use it in a sentence!

You're right! They are different. Oh well, bonus puzzle!

ETA: Another 2fer.

Sorry I didn't see your message, cathwen.  I don't recall what was in it this morning, though I'm sure I looked at it.  Hmm, never mind... I just loaded it on my computer, and it has different letters than my phone is showing! Maybe I'll have luck with one of them.

Congrats on another 2fer, ciao_yall!

Good morning!

On the way to genius with pangram, but I'm going to try to save the bee for husband's eye appointment.  Yesterday we needed bee buddy for ingot, and I needed husband's help for toping.

I only got to try one of the LB puzzles but got a 2fer: blither-retracking.  That does not appear to be the one that the schmofficial solution is posted for.

Happy solving!

Good morning!

Pangram and above genius. Last word yesterday was toping, which was the result of mistyping. That was how I found crog as well. I checked my word list after seeing crog mentioned in the discussion above, and there it was! I recall having to reenter (or so I thought) croc, so must have entered crog by mistake. This is what happens when one works on the bee bleary-eyed and half awake.

cathwen, I recall that the first version of LB didn't include the ing combination, unlike the second version. I also recall a similar situation with Vertex just a couple of days ago, when the first version was a bird peeking out of a birdhouse, and the second one to be quite different. The bird version still had three zeros despite the puzzle being complete in all other respects.

Happy solving!

Good morning!

QBwH yesterday; last words were toping, tonging, pinpoint/ing. Today I have the pangram and am above genius, five words to go.

LB: I had berth-hackling. Today's LB seems to be what I saw yesterday morning; still no 2fer for it. Ab-grp, you're right—the "official" answer does not seem to relate to yesterday's second set of letters (nor to today's, which I think was yesterday's first set ).

I no longer do Vertex, so I did not notice the difference between early and later versions yesterday. I wonder which other puzzles were affected? Not the Bee, apparently, and I don't think Connections, either.

Anyway...happy puzzling!

ciao_yall

Morning!

QBwH for pinpoint(ing.) There were two puzzles yesterday and today's seems to have loaded late. I had legalisms-scurvy then backline-earthling.

Anyway, happy solving!

It happened again. LB had different letters this morning than it does now.

Good morning!

QB. Last word yesterday was yeah--found the difficult phat and mahatma much earlier.

froze/ectoplasm

Happy solving!

Good morning!

Got to a bit past genius with pangram so far.  Congrats on your QB, Langue_doc! We needed bee buddy for meta.

No luck on LB again.  I am getting confused about which the letters of the day are.  I wish they could stick with one set! Congrats on your 2fer, Langue_doc!

Hopefully I'll have more time for puzzles today.  Yesterday got busy after the eye appointment.  Apparently he needs a follow up glaucoma appointment, so add that to the list of worries.  Hopefully whatever it is can be managed.  Time for him to get some bifocals (or progressives) as well!

Tomorrow we are getting a new fridge and dryer, so my mind is also occupied trying to figure out the best plan for switching fridge/freezer content on the fly.  I know people do this all the time, but until it's executed I will just think about it a lot.

Happy solving!

ciao_yall

Morning!

QBwSBB for papaya. Nudge for froze-ectoplasm. I found froze early on, but when I saw that there was an e-m word it popped out at me.

Happy solving!

Good afternoon!

QBwH yesterday to find my last word, mayhem. Today I have only two words to go, and one of them is the pangram!

LB: No luck with either set of letters. I did see froze, but did not see ectoplasm. No 2fer yet today, either. Argh!

Ab_grp, I hope that all goes well with the follow-up appointment! And congratulations on your new appliances.

Happy puzzling!

Langue_doc

Good morning!

QB. Last word yesterday was wool.

I think I found a twofer yesterday, but not the NYT one. I'll have to see if I wrote it down somewhere. Too many sleepless nights, or rather, too many getting up hours before the alarm days.

ab_grp, hope you're enjoying your new appliances and that the transfer of contents from old fridge to new fridge was smooth. I recall that you got new living room and/or dining room furniture too. Sorry to hear about husband's eye diagnosis. Hope the follow-up appointment goes well and that he has good eye doctors.

Happy solving!

Good morning!

Got to a bit past genius with the pangram so far.  Yesterday we needed bee buddy for bedew(ed).

No luck on LB again! I don't think I would have thought of whilst in a million years.

Thanks, cathwen and Langue_doc! Regarding the appliances, we did just get furniture.  Funny how that happens, when you finally make a decision to spend some money, and then everything starts going.  Our minifridge and microwave have since completely died, and the dryer and refrigerator are heading quickly in that direction.  The delivery folk haven't arrived yet.  They give a 4-hour window (for arrival?), so it's hard to figure out when to take stuff out and get it into the cooler.  Husband also took the door off a back room so we could move the current fridge there and use it for extra space until it dies, so it should fit through there.  However, he noticed this morning that the non-door doorway between the kitchen and that hall is actually narrower, so I guess the fridge door handles might have to come off.  But some of my anxiety was put toward other foci when we were out walking around the driveway and our neighbor called out that there's a group of aggressive javelina between our houses, so watch out.  At least that was something else to get skittish about for a few, and it makes me wonder how many other times they might have been there in the brush that we didn't know about.  I will be keeping my head on a swivel.

As for the eye stuff, I don't know what will happen there.  It sounds like he is right on the edge of too much pressure (20, 21) and has some family history of it (plus diabetes in remission), but because of some of his heart medications he can't take the usual glaucoma meds.  So, I guess we'll see.  I don't know what they plan to do at the follow up, but that's early October.  I told him he will also have to be extra careful getting used to progressives because he has low blood pressure and gets dizzy sometimes already.  Ugh! He is mostly in great health but also sounds like he's falling apart a bit.  I guess some of it is just getting older.  I just have no experience with glaucoma, as no one in my family has had it as far as I know.  More to learn!

Happy solving!
