Professional Memberships? How does your Institution handle them?

The federal tax deduction for unreimbursed employee expenses was eliminated by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.

Bummer.  Clearly, I only skim my tax return that we pay someone to prepare.

I always find this sort of question fascinating. Never, ever would have occurred to me to have my institution pay for memberships. I must be slower than I thought I was.

Well, most of them don't., so that would make you efficient and not slow.

It's probably only private schools that get little federal grant money but have enough money to give the benefit that do this...probably not a large set.
