Brining the turkey was absolutely worth it! It came out more moist and flavorful than any turkey I've made.

Relatives refrained from political talk, perhaps because we had new non-family guest this year. Everyone was on their best behavior.

Glad to hear that your brining was successful as was the company.

We went over to the relatives of my hosts and as usual had a great time and good turkey with all the accompaniments. We were told to bring containers so that we could take some leftovers, so we had turkey, dressing, other dishes, and pie the next couple of days. It was good to catch up as the last time I saw them was on Thanksgiving a couple of years ago. Although unbrined, the turkey was moist and delicious as was the dressing.

I saw the return crowd on the interstate as I drove home from the library last night. Plenty of people at gas stations! The big 3 regional airports (BWI, Reagan, and Dulles) saw their share of crowds. I'm enjoying another day of having our library staff office to myself.  :)
