As someone without kids, I think about what life will be like in my 70s and later. Like just about everyone else, I don't want to move to a place where it is all just old people. In principle I like the idea of being around younger people and even being auditing some classes. Apparently some colleges are making this a thing.

But wow, it could go dramatically wrong. I wonder how the experiment will fare.

Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.

Reprove not a scorner, lest they hate thee: rebuke the wise, and they will love thee.

Give instruction to the wise, and they will be yet wiser: teach the just, and they will increase in learning.

Anselm

I think young people prefer to be around fellow young folks.  Now, aside from living actually on campus. there seems to be a trend for non-students to flock to the college towns.  Along with that comes problems of gentrification and loss of affordable housing close to campus.
