You could trying what I guy I used to know did.  He kept a length of broomstick to prop the hood open whenever he opened it.

Why would LMS creators set up email notifications so a student email goes to your email in-box but you can't reply to it, and it tells you to log into the LMS to reply to the student? Did they think "What would be really annoying? Let's do that!"

Exactly! It's not like two-way mail forwarding would be any more technically complex, since the system needs all of the same information for one-way as it would for two-way.

Oh!  I know!  Add in a warning message about "External Sender - are you sure you want to reply?" every time a student uses the LMS to email you and it's forwarded to your in-box.

'Cause we have that added feature.

today I changed the hood lifts on my car!  It didnt take too much effort, thanks to watching a youtube about it first!!

I had thought that it would help the hood pop up better, but I suppose that is another problem!  However, as earlier today I was doing something else and the hood hit me on the back of my head, I suppose that the lifts needed fixed too!

Good afternoon!

QB with help to fine motif.  I know it’s been in the Bee before, but I just didn’t see it.  Also, I used to teach French from a textbook called Motifs, so I really have no excuse.  Today I am above genius and have both pangrams with about five words to go.

LB:  Like Langue_doc, I had bought-tripodal.  No 2fer yet today, so congratulations to ciao_yall for a quick one!

Ab_grp, what did Merlin say your bird was?

Happy puzzling!

If you had a student with the same name as the most famous football coach of all time, would you want to ask him if his parents chose his name deliberately?

Watched Syndoche, New York.  Reminded me of the many times we went to the local (and only) art theater in Columbia, SC, in the late '60s and early '70s to gush over the pretentiously awful Fellini, Bergman, Antonioni "films", none of which we could even begin to grasp (nobody could), but we were wanna be pointy headed intelecshuls so had to gush about ....whatever.

This reminds me of an experience my husband had when he was in boot camp in South Carolina.  A Bergman film, The Passion of Anna, was playing in town, and he convinced a group of fellow trainees to go see it.  It was…not what they expected.  And they never let him forget it!

Oh lordy!

This reminds me of when a group of (male) highschool friends went to see Blue Velvet apparently convinced it would be some kind of soft-core porn based on the movie poster. Boy were they surprised.

I was reading an interview with Brooke Shields, which led me to re watching Pretty Baby.  Given the subject matter, it's actually pretty tame.

The inconsistent accents in the movie drove me bats.

Good morning!

Got the pangrams pretty quickly, but I'm still 10 or so points from genius.  It's one of those off-schedule mornings with husband having to go to site early.  Yesterday my final word was firm, of all things.

For LB, I finally got a 2fer while we were making dinner: droplight-tabu.  I just tried the first word, but after husband explained what it was (like one of those lightbulbs in a cage on a long extension cord that you can hang near a workspace), I know my dad had one at one point and I just had no idea what the name for it was.  Congrats on your solutions, ciao_yall (and another today) and Langue_doc!

Speaking of birds, I forgot to mention that there's one that Merlin keeps recording but never while I'm looking at the app, and it's got a cool name and is very pretty.  Anyway, it happened to land in the bare branches of the tree above us yesterday and called out while I was looking at the app, so I finally got to see it.

Hoping to get some more coffee, as I obviously need it.

Happy solving!
