Good morning!

Somewhere past genius with pangram so far.  Yesterday husband got to QBABH, and I gave up with two words left: baobab, oddball.  At least I got rollbar, and we had team QB.

I finally got a 2fer which was the schmofficial multiplexes-show.

Ciao_yall, hope your trip is going well!  Glad you are getting to see such cool history.  A bientot! A tout a l'heure!

Cathwen, wow, that is a lot of driving around! I think just hearing "Maine" always makes me think of a long drive from all the times we drove up and back.  I guess you are a little closer, but still a hike! In any case, it sounds like it worked out in the long run.  I hope they find a new-to-them car that they love.

We had quite a bit of activity in the tree this morning, including a warbling vireo that was quite chatty.

Happy solving!

Good afternoon!

QBwSBB yesterday for bollard, oddball, and rollbar. Genius with pangram so far today.

LB: I had the "official" multiplexes-show. No solution yet today.

Ciao_yall, Rouffignac and Font-de-Gaume are truly amazing. I understand reluctance to visit a reconstructed cave. However, Lascaux II is painstakingly done, the guides are fabulous, and the lectures beforehand are fascinating. More touristy, to be sure, though. The others are off the beaten path. Enjoy the southwest! I love that region.

Happy puzzling and vacationing!

Good morning!

Genius, but no pangram. Never got back to the bee yesterday.

Happy solving!

cathwen

Good morning!

QBwH for tortoni and triton, my last word. Genius with pangram today.

LB: No luck yesterday, but I have one today.

Happy puzzling!

Good morning!

A bit past genius with pangram so far.  Yesterday we had team QB.  I think I was missing mirin.

I had the schmofficial perching-gauzy.

Happy solving!

Good morning!

Got to genius with pangram so far.  Yesterday we had almost had team QB but needed bee buddy for gangling.

For LB I had the schmofficial junks-storyboard.

Happy solving!

Langue_doc

Good morning!

Pangram and above genius. Didn't get back to the bee yesterday.

Happy solving!

cathwen

Good morning!

QBwH yesterday for galangal (which I always seem to miss) and ladling, my last word. Today I'm at QB-2, hoping for inspiration.

LB: I also had junks-storyboard. Found a 2fer today also.

Happy puzzling!

ciao_yall

Morning!

Losing track of the days. But QBw2LL, last word lacuna. 2fer profiled-demagogue.

Yes, I hear Lascaux 2 (and 3) did a great job. But still, it reminds me of going to New Orleans for the first time and thinking wow, this looks just like New Orleans Square at Disneyland! Um...

Langue_doc

Good morning!

Pangram and genius. QB yesterday, with unlock at the end.

perfumed/dialog

Bird walk today, so no more puzzling.

Happy solving!

cathwen

Good morning!

QBwH yesterday for nonlocal. QB today.

LB: programed-direful. I found a 2fer today as well.

Ciao_yall, are you staying pretty much in the southwest, or heading for other regions? Sounds like a wonderful trip. Langue_doc, happy birding!

Happy puzzling!

ab_grp

Good morning!

Got to somewhere past genius with pangram (which took me a bit for some reason).  Yesterday we had team QB.  I know I needed nonlocal again but forget what else.

No luck on LB.  Congrats on your solutions!

Got some big news this morning that eldest daughter got engaged! Not a huge surprise since her fiance had asked her dad for permission (guess some still do that!), and it wasn't a secret from her.  He also just graduated with his doctorate this weekend, so hopefully they will have some fun planning their wedding and future.

Anyone see the Northern lights? We didn't even bother looking because we are pretty far south, but apparently some neighbors captured the phenomenon, so we will go out and take a look tonight (or at least hope that our cameras see it).

Happy solving!

ciao_yall

Morning!

No Northern Lights for us - apparently they were visible here but we are in town with a lot of light pollution so didn't notice them.

QBw2LL, last word cancan. LB brushwork-kempt which I found annoying because that's not really a word. Quick 2fer this morning.

ab_grp Congratulations! I think it's sweet that he asked.

cathwen We are starting and ending in Lisbon to use up some tickets we bought for a trip back in June 2020. From Lisbon to Bordeaux for family, then Montlucon, Annecy, Geneva to see my cousin and back to Lisbon.

And then, back to work!

cathwen

Good morning!

QB yesterday with 1LH for canna and nanny. Genius with both pangrams today.

LB: I had the "official" brushwork-kempt. No 2fer yet today—congratulations, ciao_yall, for finding one so quickly!

Congratulations to your daughter, ab_grp! And ciao_yall, that sounds like a great trip.

No northern lights here, either—we had dense cloud cover both nights. However, people in northern parts of the state were posting spectacular photos on Facebook.

Happy puzzling!

ab_grp

Good morning!

Got to genius with pangrams so far.  Yesterday we each got to QBABO.  I think my final words were nada, cancan (I am nearly sure I already had the latter but am glad I tried it!).

No luck on LB.  Congrats on your 2fers!

Thanks for the good wishes for daughter and son-in-law-to-be! It is really weird to think about that for some reason.

We went out a couple times last night to see if we could capture the lights, and husband sort of got a photo using his night mode sensor on his Android.  My phone may not have that (iPhone).  I'm still not sure if it's there and we just can't see it but might be able to capture it with phone sensors, or if this is all some big trick designed to make us dejected and more tired the next day.  We are going to try again tonight.  I will see if there are any camera apps that might have that night option for me.  I swear I used to have that at one point.

Ciao_yall, wow, that sounds wonderful!

Happy solving!
