Managed a good bit of prep.

T minus 5 days and counting.

All the chapters articulated.  95% of the writing done.  8 of the chapters edited and proofed on initial run.

One chapter to finish.

120 works cited so far.

Will need to format still.

I'll have to try to record a lecture during the commute. Anything else is a bonus.

Did that and checked a couple of translation pages.

Forgot my charging cable, so no work on the commute today. Or, rather, no more, since the laptop died.

Quote from: Sun_Worshiper on March 01, 2024, 08:23:54 AMMarch goals:
  • Make progress on paper #1 with colleagues - it would be great to get this off by the end of March
  • Make progress on paper #2 with colleagues
  • Make progress on paper #3 with colleague - R&R, ball is in colleague's court
  • Make progress on book project #1
  • Make progress on book project #2 with colleague
  • Revise book chapter with colleague - due mid-March

Sent off the book chapter.

I'm waiting on other people for most of the remaining tasks, but there are some things I can do on my own to help move book project #2 and paper #2 along.

Just translation checking today. More would be nice, but we'll see. I suppose I should read for a referee report.

Got a submission back (again) because they apparently want no footnotes whatsoever--annoying, because one doesn't normally have to format until a thing is accepted. Sigh.

Also got back comments from referees for translation 1. Nothing major, though since we want to comb over it one more time that'll take some work. It's a beast of a document.

Fell asleep while doing a bit of both, then the hatchling woke up.

Launch!

The manuscript is away.

Very nice acquisitions editor said they are now looking for readers, and my confidence cycles between celebrating my own brilliance and complete destitution at my ignorant dilettantism.

The waiting game begins.

I'll just float around in orbit for a while.

It was another horrifically early morning, and I'm rather tired and have a fair few errands to run. But I'm hoping to run through my talk once, and do a little translation checking.

Thank you, my friend.  I stayed up all night and am exhausted.  Just enough energy for game shows with the wife.

Gonna work on the translation checking, plus maybe course prep? I dunno.

My most recently accepted article was published today. It was given the 'editor's choice' heading, which means they've waived the paywall. So that's nice!
