Good morning!

Somewhere past genius again with pangram.  Yesterday husband got to QBABH with final word toonie just in time before I opened bee buddy.  I was missing that, into, conceit.

No luck on LB again.  Congrats on your solutions!

Happy solving!

Maybe I'm turning into a cranky old lady, but I just can't stomach the incomprehension I see that not doing their own work is cheating, and the devaluing of writing as a skill and an art due to knowing that it's something a computer can do for them. Writing is now seen as a useless, needless chore instead of the wonderful means of learning and expression that I have experienced it as all my life. Trying to convince them hasn't worked. I'm burned out on that. Working with them one on one as a tutor is different. Because it's specifically about their work, they see it as relevant, and they pay attention.

I'm getting closer to the burnout point myself. My wife, who has a PhD in rhetoric and composition, taught me the phrase "sloppy writing indicates sloppy thinking." With the decline in K-12 outcomes and the lowering of my employer's admissions standards, I find myself increasingly unable to persuade undergraduate students that writing is a valuable skill because it trains them how to think better.

With AI, the situation has rapidly worsened. I would like to design assignments that require better writing from students, even if they use AI, but they see AI as a way to circumvent writing altogether rather than as a tool that might help them improve.

I can't help thinking about Revelation 13:3-5.  Although it still seems rather early, and there are several ways to interpret the symbolism there.

Heat index of up to 107 degrees expected today, and higher still tomorrow.  Looks like a weather front is supposed to bring relief later in the week.  It felt awfully hot out even early this morning.

Of course. Trump is more important to God than Jesus, as pointed out by Reza Aslan six years ago:

I'm trying to decide whether we're now Germany in 1932 or Germany in 1933.

Accurate. Probably '32.

So, in 1932, to what historical period were Germans, horrified while watching Hitler's rise to power, comparing themselves?

QBw2LL for words I should have gotten (continent/incontinent/-ence), as well as my last words, toonie and tontine, which was a new word for me. QB today.

LB: I had the "official" forklift-tundras. Congratulations, ciao_yall, on finding something different!

Happy puzzling!

tontine is one of those weird "bee specials" I happened to remember as my penultimate word.
