SO just made two large loaves of banana walnut bread and I had a slice as a 'snack.' Yum. Yum. Yum.
Normally, when I snack, I have a small portion of chips, fruit or veg.
What do you snack on?
I picked up grapes and bananas today.
I snacked on sliced cucumbers sprinkled with cayenne and anise today.
I've tried to understand the appeal of Takis chips. HS students have let me have a sample of them on occasion because they enjoy seeing my face contort! The manufacturer describes them as "the taste of fire and a bite of lava to send your tongue fire-walking. Contains[ing] an intense flavor combination of hot chili pepper and lime, Takis Fuego rolled tortilla chips are rated "Extreme" for extreme heat and extreme taste."
Enjoy?
I tried a Takis chip. Needed a pint of ice cream afterwards. Never again.
Today's snack was watermelon. A wedge, perfectly ripe, eaten outside with juice running down my face. I'm not a watermelon devotee, but when the temperature hits 106, watermelon is great.

I don't understand the attraction of such extreme seasonings either. It demolishes your taste buds. Maybe it's a prove-you-can-do-it thing? I'd say it's a macho deal, except that some of the fiercest salsa-eating contests I'm aware of have involved women.
Cheese - any kind of hard cheese. Currently demolishing a large hunk of Jarlsberg.
Had some organic Snack Factory Pretzel Chips
I found a small bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos that were hiding in my bag. Well, I knew they were there, I suppose I was just hanging on to them until I really wanted them. They also make good fire starters, but I haven't tried that just yet.

It is the female students who seem to enjoy them most! Go figur'.
Microwave popcorn, with oregano.
Gouda cheese with Town House crackers.
Sometimes I put chutney on top.

I have discovered that my glorious new food processor, which I love dearly, can make smoothies!
It's just before I've gone to bed and I realize that no treats are here to calm my head, but then I suddenly remember that I have the makings of something that I've meant to try for like a while!
PATE de la PORC.
LANCE CREAM CHEESE AND CHIVE CRACKERS
HORMEL BACON PIECES [NOT BITS]
SMUCKERS ALL FRUIT TOPPINGS
SO, Open the package of crackers, put a bit of the spread along with bacon pieces into a small bowl. Then, with a small spoon, put a little of the spread and a few of the bacon pieces on individual crackers as you eat them. Note: It is no sin to use the TURKEY BACON BACON PIECES.
Enjoy! These are lip smacking and so lip licking good that a new dimension is added should you being enjoying love with a partner after partaking!
Enjoy with tea, coffee, juice, soft drinks, or stronger stuff, like wine, for example.
I just diced a bunch of strawberries, added a scoop of Blue Bell Vanilla ice cream and enjoyed them!
I have a water melon on the counter. it will be sliced and diced this evening!
In my office, I keep snacks in three categories: shelf stable fruit (usually fruit cups, though applesauce would also count), protein (usually cheese), and carbs (usually chips of some sort). I also used to keep an emergency caffeinated soda in there; I rarely drink caffeine but kept one around in case I really hadn't slept the night before. But I think I drank it before lock-down and I have yet to replenish my beverage snacks, though I brought in some new food snacks earlier this week.
Those are also mostly my snacks at home, except fresh fruit instead of the shelf stable kind. Also nuts.
Blueberries
Popcorn.
Time to make dinner...
I keep a box of assorted candy bars and crackers at the library. I also have bottled Starbucks bottled flavored coffees and flavored tea in the staff fridge.
Today's snack was cherry tomatoes.
today i sliced a bunch of strawberries. Then added a small amount (all that was left) of my Blue Bell vanilla ice cream. (but that sounds familiar!)
I remember ice cream....

On my way home from a taxing workday, I popped into a covenience store and purchased a LITTLE DEBBIE Cosmic Brownie. Still a great treat although no longer 25 cents to buy.
To my complete horror, I enjoyed snacking on broccoli today. Broccoli? That's always been on the list of "I'll eat it if that's what my host prepared" so it's a bit scary to realize I enjoyed it. My mother always said I'd like veggies better than pastries when I got older, but I didn't expect to get old enough to enjoy broccoli.
Hey, Economizer, can I join you for a Little Debbie next time?
I have LOVED broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and asparagus as snacks in the past.
I'd heat them in a bit of butter or oil, and some spices and then just leave them in a bowl in the fridge to munch on.
However, later, my system decided that all that starch-sugar conversion stuff was too much, and I had to stop.
I can still do spinach, though!
So, enjoy a stalk for me while you're at it.

"Do I dare disturb the Universe?"
Yes. Yes, I do. And I will eat pepperjack on crackers while I do it.
This week a patron has brought us boxes of fresh fruit and vegetables. Including some great apples! I've been having them for afternoon snacks. I've also taken some home. And a couple of tomatoes. Would take some lettuce, but I've already got as much of that at home as I can use.
I made these coffee buns (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5aKQWaZ4_Cg) yesterday. They came out really well, and are terrific for snacking, as well as for breakfast.
Bell pepper strips dipped in plain yogurt. Crunchy and creamy, just right for a hot day.
Just had a blue freezer pop.
