I just finished Daniel Golden's The Price of Admission which came out around 15 years ago and focuses on legacy admission. This is a great book in general but the current version also has an additional chapter that goes into the specifics of the Varsity Blues scandal, which I only had a superficial understanding of. I'd highly recommend this to anyone involved in an academic role. Audible version available. This is also newly relevant since the Jared Kushner/Harvard purchase is covered specifically long before he was politically relevant.
