One of my boomer colleagues, when he was on faculty, used to play Alice Cooper's "School's Out For Summer" on the last day of class, as students were leaving his classroom.

I'm sure that was a propos back when he started in the 1980s, but playing that today on the last day of class is a multiple meta meme.

Can anyone think of a contemporary alternative to Alice Cooper's "School's Out For Summer?" The ideal anthem would have the same effect as Alice Cooper's anthem for the 80s/90s college students.

Perhaps one who is young enough could come up with an answer here, but maybe just stick with Cooper, and 1) let the kiddoes learn about the past, and 2) come to respect their elders.

To think that Alice Cooper is now getting the old fogy vote.  Sic transit gloria mundi.
If in this life only we had hope of Christ, we would be the most pathetic of them all.  But now is Christ raised from the dead, the first of those who slept.  First Christ, then afterward those who belong to Christ when he comes.

Add a little class to the occasion.  Play the a video of Gaudeamus Igitur to class the place up and let them learn something about their forebears in the classroom in the distant past.
Funeral by funeral, the academy advances

Wow! That is classy.
