Good morning!

Got to genius with the pangram so far.  Yesterday we had one word left after comparing, but I managed to find lulu before we had to go to bee buddy.  Congrats on your QB yesterday, cathwen!

I also (finally) had emetic-conjugal.  Congrats on all the solutions again!

Thanks, Langue_doc! I don't mesh well with this doctor, unfortunately, and I have a hard time advocating myself with him sometimes, but I wanted credit for my progress, dang it! I was just talking about that issue with the mammo tech, that doctors can tend to focus on weight and totally miss anything else going on, and that patients probably have an idea that they have gained some weight and don't need it pointed out to them.  Unfortunately, I have or have had a lot of the lifestyle factors that influence poor breathing.  I'm trying to improve them, but I realize that I might still need some help in the O2 department aside from that.  It's kind of strange that I have never had a doctor ask me about my sleeping or look into this at all, and that if I didn't wear a bunch of trackers (I like data) I probably wouldn't even have an idea that there were possible issues with the oxygen.  If apnea and similar affect so many people (probably more than even know), and if it can have such a major effect on health, why isn't looking into this more a regular part of primary care? Especially if someone does have risk factors? Or is it, and I have just never had a doctor even remotely ask me about anything related to it?

Regarding the tires, I think they would take them away.  I guess I didn't consider that part! We have a place where you can discard stuff like that, and husband has the pickup, so hopefully there is that possibility if not.  Hmm! We had the tires shipped directly to us so that if the mobile installer ends up not working out we can take them to the local tire place, and they will put them on there (and discard the old ones).  The mobile installer is a new-ish local family business that has good reviews so far, so we figured we might as well try them out, but we'll see.

Cathwen, I hope you continue to recover well from your covid vaccine! You really are going through them all right now! I am not doing too badly with the flu shot other than a slightly elevated heart rate last night.

Congrats on your 2fer today, ciao_yall, and good luck with Connections.  Today's was easier on me than the past few have been, but I am still trying to figure out what is going on with the crossword (a typically weird Thursday).

Happy solving!

ETA:  Apparently, there are missing crossword clue images, so I guess that was part of why I was having such trouble figuring that one out! Someone kindly posted them online.  I thought they were supposed to be blank, but they just didn't render properly! Just a heads up in case anyone else is having trouble.

Good morning!

Pangram and above genius. Last word was gigging.

Soul-crushing medical appointment this afternoon.

Hope you've all recovered from the numerous shots. I'm holding off on mine because it took me weeks to recover from at least three of the Covid shots.

Happy solving!

Good morning!

QBw2LLH to find pinup and my last word, gigging. Today I have both pangrams with three words to go.

LB: I had the "official" wordsmith-hulk. I found a 2fer today also.

I have recovered from the Covid shot and feel fine, apart from a mildly sore arm. Ab_grp, I'm heartened to know that the recovery from the flu shot has been easy for you—perhaps it will be for me, too. I get that one on Sunday.

Happy puzzling!

Good morning!

Got to genius with the pangrams so far.  Yesterday we each got to QBABO.  My last word was pinup.

No luck on LB, so congrats, cathwen, and on another today!

Cathwen, I'm in pretty much the same situation but with the flu shot.  My arm is still a little sore, but I didn't have the fever or overall skin ache weirdness that I have had the last few times, when I got the covid and flu vaccines together.  I am not sure what to attribute that to and whether I should expect the covid vaccine to bring the pain? I have never gotten a flu shot on its own before.  In any case, I definitely hope it bodes well for you this weekend for your flu shot!

And sending you wishes for the best soul crushing appointment and outcomes as possible, Langue_doc! I don't remember which covid vaccines you've had or whether it would be worth considering a different one this time? I know some folks switch, but I don't know if that's recommended or not.  On the call I had with friendly colleagues earlier in the week, two of us are Pfizer loyalists, and one is a Moderna loyalist.  Who knows, just a thought.  Anyway, good luck today, and be sure to take care of yourself after!

Happy solving!

Thanks, ab_grp, but have been getting advisories about flash flooding in my area that would prevent me from getting to the subway station. Subways are also a mess, so I happily called the imaging place and rescheduled my appointment. Woohoo, but I'll have to deal with it next week.

As for the vaccines, I have a full schedule of bird walks and hikes for the next four or so weekends, and also a trip coming up, so I do not want to have to cancel any of these. I'll wait until November when I'll be seeing my PCP and then ask him for his recommendations.

I think my bird walk for tomorrow might be canceled.

ab_grp

I didn't see your post on the weather thread until after, so I'm glad you will stay safe and dry and have a brief reprieve! Sounds like you have a good vaccine plan as well.  Sorry you might miss out on your bird walk, though.

Thanks, ab_grp. Sunday looks good though, so all's well for my outdoors event. I feel bad for the numerous hikes scheduled for tomorrow some of which have been canceled or rescheduled for November--a few of these were reschedulings from last weekend.

ciao_yall

Morning!

QBwG last word pinup. LB wordsmith-hunk.

Got Connections more by wild guesses and process of elimination than anything else but hey. And lots of 3fers.

Happy solving!

ab_grp

Good morning!

Got to genius plus a bit with pangram so far.  Yesterday we needed bee buddy for jabot.

No luck on LB yesterday, but I got a 2fer on my first try today! It's been a while!

Happy solving!

cathwen

Good morning/afternoon!

QB yesterday with a nudge for my last word, kabob, which I always seem to miss. Today I'm beyond genius with the pangram.

LB: I had injuries-symposia. Found one today, but not the first try—-so congratulations, ab_grp, on yours!

Happy puzzling!

ciao_yall

Morning!

QBwG to find my last word, jojoba. LB juniper-rosemary.

Waah, broke my Wordle streak of 83! But at least I got a 2fer.

Happy solving.

Langue_doc

Good moring!

QB--resorted to BB for a couple of words that I would have found if I had persisted. Last word was kabob.

I have a twofer, but can't recall the words other than that they were not the NYT ones. I'll have to report on my solution later.

ab_grp, I meant to respond to your comment about the Thursday crossword, but was in a state of shock due to the NYT having messed up my 184-day wordle streak despite my having completed the puzzle that day as usual, soon after midnight. Clicking on My stats don't look right only results in information on how to play the game, and then how to report delivery issues. Aaargh!!!! Needless to say, I was too disheartened to attempt the crossword that day.

ab_grp

Thanks, cathwen! Congrats on your 2fer yesterday, which I had both parts of and totally missed! And congrats on another today.  I just happened to start with a workable word this time, I guess.

Langue_doc, that is a shame that you lost your Wordle streak for no reason and that the "help" wasn't helpful! I can see why that threw you.  Yuck.

Langue_doc

Good morning!

Pangram and above genius. Don't recall the last words from yesterday's puzzle--resorted to BB, but would have found them anyway.

placable/evoking, and popinjays/serum from the day before.

Happy solving!

ciao_yall

Morning!

QBwH for litchee, oilcloth, cattail. LB placable-evoking, backpacking-glove.

Happy solving!
