What if the student has read too much Borges and did this on purpose?

Ok that's awesome.

I dream of this student.

In many years of teaching Latin American Literature I don't believe my mother ever had such a student....
If in this life only we had hope of Christ, we would be the most pathetic of them all.  But now is Christ raised from the dead, the first of those who slept.  First Christ, then afterward those who belong to Christ when he comes.

Maybe the student is dreaming that you're dreaming...

Well, you could see whether you're vulnerable to fire.  If not, then yes, you're probably a dream that the student is having.  Which would be a disturbing thought.

Now if you dream that you're a butterfly, that raises a whole different conundrum.

[. . . ]

it's utterly wrong. It also does ignore a lot of what's gone on in the course, as we've talked at length about how The Wide Sargasso Sea is a response to the original novel. I gather she was napping for those parts.

Wrong is wrong. Napping is napping. F.

Agreed. I hope that a smart student does not receive any special consideration because the student is smart.
