Good morning!

Like ciao_yall, I should have gotten QBABM yesterday, but caved and got help to find mammoth and motorboat (and that after seeing both motor and boat!  Argh!).  Today I'm a at Beta with both pangrams and finding it a struggle.

Langue_doc, I got haram by accident and was surprised when it was accepted.  I assumed it was an alternate spelling for harem, but apparently it means ''forbidden or proscribed by Islamic law.'  Another word for my Bee list!

LB:  I had the "official" junta-apologize.  I have found a 2fer today also.

Happy puzzling!

Good morning!

Haven't gotten too far today.  I see that I am missing a pangram as well.  Hopefully I will be able to make the same kind of progress you all have! Yesterday we had team QB again.  Haram was definitely one of my missed words, so I appreciate the definition, cathwen, because I also thought maybe it was an alternate spelling! In hindsight, I have heard that one before somewhere, spoken, not just in the bee list.  Too bad I had no chance of remembering it.  The only other one I was missing was roam, somehow, despite getting some of the ones that are a lot more difficult for me.  Ugh.

As for LB, no luck.  I could not figure out what to do with the J and definitely did not think of junta! Congrats on getting that solution! And congrats to cathwen on another today.

Happy solving!

Bee is cruising along - 2Ps and well into genius but stuck after the grid. I don't want to dip into the 2LL.

LB - 3fers coming out of my ears and several 2fer b4ss solutions. I think it's going to be one of those weeks.

Lately I have been trying Wordle. I find it pretty easy compared to LB but famous last words, amiright? My starting word is peach.

ab_grp

I managed to get the second pangram and get to genius but am stuck for now.

But I did finally get a 2fer after many tries!

Good luck, ciao_yall! And I hope you enjoy Wordle.  It has its easy days and its difficult ones.  There is definitely some strategy to it, particularly when there are many possibilities to whittle down.  There was a pretty interesting article on first-word choice that I think I linked upthread.  Have fun!

Langue_doc

I don't think I'll make it to QB today.

As for haram, I know the word from "Boko Haram", so just looked up the meaning of the name which roughly translates as "education is forbidden".

It never ceases to amaze me as to why words that many of us consider to be normal are banned by the bee whereas haram and many other words of foreign origin are perfectly legit. There's a word that shouldn't have been accepted in today's puzzle because of the pearl-clutching, but more on that tomorrow.

ciao_yall

QBwH for a few odd ones I had overlooked. LB permutation-nought.

Happy solving!

Good morning!

Pangram and genius; it's a short, but tough one today.

Missed flatfeet and icefall.

The puzzlemakers appear to have no problems with fellate while disapproving of coition!

Happy solving!

Good morning!

Got the pangram right away but only just got to genius.  I agree, it's tough! Yesterday we had team QB again.  I think flatfeet, leaflet, icefall, leftie were my final ones.  Langue_doc, I agree with you about what they will accept or not.  And thanks for the reminder about Boko Haram.  I have heard it in that context, so maybe that's where I remembered it from.

For LB, I had repairmen-nought.  Congrats on your 2fer, ciao_yall!

Retina specialist round 2 this morning, so I have to get notes together since he is an oddball.  I want to be sure I get my questions in.  Apparently husband's colleague saw this specialist when he had a major retina incident and said he seems to be a good doctor and surgeon but is very weird and a little hard to deal with.  I'm just glad it wasn't just us.  He seemed to react strangely a few times.  Anyway! We'll see what happens today.

Happy solving!

Good morning!

Today's SB is a toughie, I agree.  I just clawed my way to Genius with the pangram, which was my first word. Now I am stuck!

Yesterday was a busy day, so I didn't progress well, and had to look for hints at the end.  I did not think that flatfeet was a word, so that was an "honest" miss, but I wanted to slap my head when I realized that I hadn't put down lift and left.  I kept seeing them and thinking, no, I've already found those.  Sigh...

LB:  I had hemp-purgation. Looks like another day with a good bit of variety!  I have a 2fer today as well.

Ab_grp, good luck at your appointment this morning!

Langue_doc, thanks for looking up "Boko Haram".  Education is forbidden...that is chilling.

Happy puzzling!

Langue_doc

ab_grp, hope your medical appointment goes well. Sometimes you can encounter a physician who is medically proficient, but has poor people skills, so the written notes sounds like an excellent idea.

ab_grp

Thanks for the good wishes! Still in the waiting room but got QBABM, 2fer, and solved crossword.  Now what? Ha maybe i should come to the doctor more often.

ab_grp

Good gravy! I think that took about 3.5 hours at the actual office, of which 10 mins was with the doctor, if that.  And he was an oddball again.  It was very, very packed, and I guess there was an emergency.  It's kind of a branch office, so one doctor from the main office in nearby bigger city comes each day to see patients there.  Anyway, no news.  My eye apparently looks pristine.  I have to go back in 3 months.  I will need to bring more puzzles next time, because they did not last past the first waiting room.  Poor husband ended up shopping most of the time, making his way to two grocery stores and two chain stores and then sitting in the parking lot for quite a while.

Still have to do Wordle, Globle, Duolingo, sudokus, exercise...

Parasaurolophus

M ysuboptimal day spilled over into the Bee, so I'll finish my last seven points tomorrow. Blech.
I know it's a genus.

Langue_doc

Good morning!

Pangram (first word) and above genius. Last word yesterday was natant--found all the words, phew!

divorce/emulsion

ab_grp, that was a long wait; I think we should start a thread on doctor's offices and their idiosyncrasies.

Happy solving!

ciao_yall

QBwATHICG to find natant. LB conundrums-silver.

Happy solving!
