Title: Canadian researchers - SSHRC question
Post by: adel9216 on August 09, 2020, 04:04:57 PM
Hello,
Is it possible for an established professor to get a SSHRC grant in order to write a collective book + conference related to the book's theme ?
Just asking out of curiosity, can't find that info on SSHRC website when it comes to the book part
thanks

I think it's possible, but that a collection is going to be at a serious disadvantage in the competition, absent other deliverables. You'd want the conference and collection to fill a clear and clearly important scholarly void.

Others with experience judging SSHRC proposals should weigh in, however, and they'd know more than I do. I've seen group projects of this general sort get funded before, but I think they've usually been quite large projects under the 'Connections' arm of the agency.
