You know what to do...

My December goals:

  • Make progress on paper #1 with colleague. I've been dragging my feet on this, but my colleague is enthusiastic, so I'll keep chipping away at it with them.
  • Make progress on paper #2 with colleague. I need to update dataset and run some new models and robustness tests. In theory, we could submit this to a journal sooner than later, but realistically we probably won't do so this month.
  • Make progress on paper #3 with colleague. The preliminary results are promising, but I need to do do a more thoughtful assessment of the data. I'm also not sure how enthusiastic my colleague is about this one. We both will need to decide whether it is worth pursuing.
  • Make progress on new solo project. I'm in the zone on this one, so I may just spend the month obsessing over it.

Wishing everyone a strong finish to 2022!

There will be a lot of marking, which is unfortunate. Still, I expect to:

  • Write 1 referee report.
  • Publish the Newsletter.
  • Write January blog post
  • Make progress on popular-facing chapter.
  • Finish reading Tough Book.

The first two have to happen soon, so they'll definitely get done, at least. And at a minimum of five pages a day, there shouldn't be any trouble with the last.

Today, I have class stuff to do. I might, however, get started on the Newsletter stuff.

Yikes — it's December! Goals at this point:

  • Complete final revisions on one article by mid-month
Complete a peer review of an article by mid-month
Write a book review by the end of the month
Keep tapping my fingers while waiting on peer review of an article and final editorial review of a chapter

December goals:

Finish drafting the last dissertation chapter. If necessary, I can take the first week or two of January as well.

Read and/or skim a bunch of articles I've been meaning to get to.

Today, Newsletter and invoices.

Newslettered and wrote up my referee report (instead of invoicing).

Today I read another issue of the journal for my sabbatical project. I only have two issues left and I plan to read them on Monday! I also took on another manuscript review which is due in early January, oy!

I had hoped for Newslettering today, but I suspect it won't happen.
