Public domain images [Internet Archive? Google?]

I'm close to publication on a 19th century book project. Some of the images I took 15 years ago and they're not in the proper format.

In some cases I can find an image on the Internet Archive, which allows books in the public domain to be freely copied. Is the same true for Google books in the public domain?
