New year, new plans!

Year's goals:

  • Draft up my second book, send out the proposal.
  • Get Translation 2 accepted somewhere.
  • Finish Translation 3 and send off a proposal to publishers.
  • Translate another complete thing, since it comes easily.
  • Get at least two new articles accepted.

Monthly goals:

  • Finish my R&R.
  • Finish the book chapter I started last month.
  • There's a chunk of T3 that my translation partner and I somehow missed, so I'll do that.

Anything else is stretch. I've got a new upper-year prep this semester, so already those three things seem pretty ambitious.
I know it's a genus.

January goals:
  • Make progress on paper #1 with colleagues - should be submittable soon, but ball is in colleague's court
  • Make progress on paper #2 with colleagues - ball is in colleague's court
  • Make progress on paper #3 with colleague - R&R, ball is in my court
  • Make progress on book project #1
  • Make progress on book project #2 with colleague

Priorities this month are paper #3 and book project #2.

About 400 words of a new, referee-proofing, section.

Today, I have some videos to record. After that, R&R work and then reading for tomorrow's class (ugh).

Did all that, and wrote 1000 words.

Just working while commuting today. Guess I'll have a look at my translation partner's revisions, then maybe work on the R&R.

January Goals
  • Work on book manuscript
  • Revisit old manuscript with former student

Happy new year! My December 2023 article came out today so I was able to include it with my annual review materials. I emailed the journal that has had my sabbatical manuscript since early July and still has "awaiting reviewing selection" as the status, offering to suggest reviewers if that will move the process along. I contacted the case study contributors for my book to nudge them today and gave them a deadline for a draft. I have been avoiding the mansuscript revision with my former student though hu has been more on it than me. It is not a big priority since it was already rejected so many times. I need to get working on my book chapter with my colleague but it is not due until June so the book manuscript gets priority.
