Morning!

QBwSBB, last word impala. LB needed a hint for babushka-adjoint. This morning I hit my Wordle streak of 60! Woohoo!

Happy  solving!

Langue_doc

Good morning!

Pangram and genius. Last word was anode.

Happy solving!

Good morning!

Got to genius with the pangram so far.  Yesterday we needed bee buddy for henna(ed), odea.

For LB I got a weird one, watergrave-epilogue.  I was surprised it took the first word (?), but hooray.

Time to go sit at the retina specialist for 3 hours for a 5-min appt in a wifi dead zone again, so I am trying to get puzzling in beforehand.

Happy solving!

Good morning!

QBwSBB for henna/ed, ennead. Today I'm at QB-2 with the pangram.

LB: No luck yesterday. Congratulations on your 2fer, ab_grp! No luck today so far, either.

Ciao_yall, congratulations on your Wordle streak! And ab_grp, I hope that your appointment does not involve a long wait, and that (when it happens) the appointment will go well.

Happy puzzling!

Morning!

QBwG, last word hennaed. LB after much wailing and gnashing of teeth, went to hints for overwrite-earplug.

Happy solving!

ab_grp

Cathwen, thanks! I got out a little under 2 hours after my appointment, which I think is a world record, and I don't have to go back for a year now (no change)! And the wifi worked, so I ended up solving all the puzzles and got 2fer and QBABM! Good luck to you!

Good morning!

Pangram (first word) and a slog to genius. Last word was entente which I never see until almost the end.

Tried quordle, and much to my surprise, got all four words two days in a row, and also the weekly special. It was rather nerve-wracking but phew!

ab_grp, glad to hear that your appointment was painless (I hope it was literally as well) and that you don't have to go back until a year from now.

Happy solving!

Good morning!

I also got the pangram right away and then managed to get to genius.  I am a little stuck now but will try more later.  Yesterday my final word was untune.

For LB I had the schmofficial hydraulic-conk.

Thanks, Langue_doc! It's just an exam with imaging and so forth, so painless except for the blinding sunlight I ran out into stupidly with my dilated and overly-imaged eyes.  Too thankful to be going home, I guess.  I should add that some folks there definitely have what sound like more painful appointments, so I am very glad just to mostly be looked at.  And congrats on quordle! I tried it a long time ago but didn't have the stamina to keep at it.

That reminds me that I way overthought yesterday's Connections and should have gone with the obvious groupings immediately rather than thinking it was something clever going on.  And that reminds me that yesterday's was the third (?) Thurs crossword in a row that I wasn't fond of.  It was way too easy.  I felt like they were trying to be too cutesy with a theme that is so well known and obvious these days that it just didn't work.

Happy solving!

Morning!

QBwG last word was a wild guess at netty. LN hydraulic-conk.

Happy solving!

Good morning!

QB yesterday with entente and uncut as my last words. Today I am at genius with the pangram.

LB: I've been having a bad run with LB. Yesterday I *should* have seen hydraulic on my own, but did not until I saw a hint. So, hydraulic-conk but only with a hint. Today, though, I got a 2fer. Back on track!

Ab_grp, I am so glad that the appointment went well!

Langue_doc, congratulations on your Quordle success!

Happy puzzling!

Langue_doc

QB--but...I cheated. I didn't think I'd have the time or energy to complete the puzzle, so resorted to BB. There's still today's crossword and LB.

ab_grp, I also found the crossword to be rather blah. I'm not too fond of rebuses, so have plenty of gaps in my streaks. Last weekend I didn't even attempt Thursday's puzzle, and then missed Friday and Saturday as well.

I think Connections has been sort of dumbed down this past week. Not complaining, but still grousing over the limited number of attempts.

Morning!

QBwH for inurn, unroof. LB equilibration-nap.

Happy solving!

cathwen

Good morning!

QBwBB help for finito, intuit, unroof. Today I am at genius with the pangram.

LB: I had the "official" prequel-liberation. Congratulations on your solution, ciao_yall!

Happy puzzling!

Good morning!

Got the pangram and to a bit past genius so far.  We needed bee buddy help with inurn, unroof.  I don't think I'll ever get those, and the latter is just dumb IMO.

I was close on LB but had convinced myself that -tion wasn't available for some reason.  :-( Congrats on your 2fers, ciao_yall and cathwen! I feel like I am close today, so we shall see.

Happy solving!

ETA: I forgot to mention that we had quite a bird haul this morning! I think something like 15 bird types, quite a few of which were new.  We have had some interesting ones lately.  I am not sure why there were so many this morning, but it was very entertaining.

Langue_doc

Afternoon!

Pangram and genius. I'll have to resort to BB to find the remaining words. Needed help with three or so words yesterday--don't recall what they were, but I don't think I'd have found them on my own.

ab_grp, lucky you, to have seen so many birds this morning. Sounds like favorable winds for migratory birds. Have you looked at Birdcast? It was a disappointing bird walk this morning, due to unfavorable winds last night which were blowing in the wrong direction. We usually see 50 or more species in this area, but saw only around 25 this morning. I had good intentions of joining another group after our 90-minute outing but decided against it because I didn't think there would be any more birds. It was also quite humid.

Happy solving!
