Got a 2fer!

Langue_doc, that's so nice that you got to enjoy the bird walks, raccoon couple sighting, and a conversation.  Sounds very companionable.  I am also a night owl, though I have been trying to become more moderate (mostly because a lot of jobs in my field are on the east coast and want people to keep east coast hours... ugh; also early work schedule for youngest).  I am definitely not a morning person.  I have trouble getting back to sleep when I wake up in the middle of the night and would rather have time to sleep in and make up for it.  I guess you will be happy to be back to your later routine!

GWP. Somewhere in beta now.
I know it's a genus.

QBwH, last words included encage, encaged. LB cavort-thankful.

Happy solving!

ab_grp

Good morning!

I got to genius with pangram so need to do other things for a bit.  I think encage(d) were our final ones with assistance.

I also had cavort-thankful, but it looks to be schmofficial, so I am curious if there are other solutions.

Happy solving!

Good afternoon!

Yesterday my last word was ennead. Today I am at Genius with the pangram.

LB:  I also had cavort-thankful, and yes, it was the "official" solution.  Today I also have a 2fer.

Happy puzzling!

Langue_doc

Afternoon/evening!

Two-fer and QB. I didn't think I'd even make it to genius, but then saw that they were all familiar words or words I'd seen in previous bees.

QB yesterday, but don't remember the last few words. Found the difficult/arcane words early on.

ab_grp

I finally got a 2fer! Congrats on yours, cathwen and Langue_doc!

And additional kudos to Langue_doc for another QB.  I still have a couple words left.

Parasaurolophus

I know it's a genus.

QBwH and a new word: antonymy.

LB - no 2fer but lots of ships and b4ss solutions. Darn compound words. Here is an abbreviated parade of near misses:

verdict-tic chocolaty
dictatorial-lah-heavy
halved-directory
valedictory-yeah
horde-evocatively

And an honorable mention vocal-leathery-yield which sounds like the metatags for some kinky porn video.

Happy solving!

Langue_doc

Good morning!

Getting to genius was quite a struggle, despite finding the pangrams. Last word yesterday was mayo--found the oddballs much earlier.

cholera/avidity--I think I prefer my solution to that of the NYT

I failed today.

There is no such thing as the bee words are an arbitrary list of words "hand-curated" by a single person. No dictionary would include words such as tali, dunno, gonna, for instance, and at the same time exclude several words that are commonly used but deemed either offensive or obscure by the NYT. Furthermore, when you address this, you get a five-paragraph blather that would earn no more than a D in a college course because the words don't mean anything or even try to explain the rationale for their arbitrary list.

Good morning!

Didn't get too far in the bee yet but did finally find the pangram.  We had team QB yesterday.  I needed help with ottoman (again!), moot, moony.

For LB, I had ditcher-revelatory.

Happy solving!

ab_grp

Got a 2fer! And I finally made it to genius.

cathwen

Good evening!

It's been a hectic day here, but I did at least get to Genius with both pangrams.  No LB solution, though, and now it's time for bed—so I'll be looking forward to seeing what you all got!

Not a great puzzle day yesterday, either.  I missed antonymy (which I thought I had tried!), moony, myna, and ottoman

LB:  cathodic-cleverly.

Until tomorrow!

ab_grp

That's another good 2fer solution, cathwen! I hope you have a calmer day tomorrow.  I am certainly looking forward to tomorrow and a long weekend.

We didn't have team QB.  I got down to three words before we compared, but we had one in common, unfortunately! Still, not too bad.  Husband is still trying to start the bee when he gets home from work and trying to catch up to where I am.  He was so happy to get "the" pangram... until I had to burst his bubble.  But maybe it helped, because he found the other one pretty quickly.

Parasaurolophus

I'm nowhere close, but it rejected my pangam.
I know it's a genus.
