NYT Spelling Bee

Good morning!

I got to Alpha, 3 words left.  Yesterday I was mad at myself for bad math.  I got weld for my penultimate word and thought I need a 5-letter to QB and struggled for a while until I realized I needed a 6.  Welded.  Urgh.  I thought the pangram was a little tough yesterday.

For LB, I had handknit-teleport.  Lots of different solutions again! Congrats on your solutions today, cathwen and ciao_yall! And a good reminder to just try stuff! I will try to keep that in mind today.

Two-fer--not very economical, but words are legit.

QB--got stuck because a word that I had typed earlier hadn't been entered by the system. Took me a while to figure out the last 4-letter word. This happens to be a recurring problem when I use the kindle for the bee.

LB - plombe-excitation. I have no idea why it took plombe which is French for lead and doesn't show up in the dictionary.

Two more words to QB.  Yesterday my final one which took a bit was uproar because AGAIN I was looking for a word of the wrong length at the end.  How? After just complaining about it yesterday morning from the day before? How!! As for parol, we both just guessed that one.  I had no idea what it meant until I looked it up.

For LB, I got combine-exploitation. Lots of different solutions! Congrats on your 2fer today, cathwen.

Three words to go until QB, and I am out of ideas.  Yesterday my last word was tallboy.

LB:  I had the "official" joke-everything.  I have a 2fer today as well.

Contrary to expectations, I got most of my grading done yesterday.  Only a few more to go today.  Final exam grading will by my treat for next week.  Will the fun never end?
