Last night I heard from a journal editor on a revision I submitted two months ago. Hu wrote that we responded to all reviewer comments well and the manuscript is great, but suddenly is too many pages over the maximum (not posted anywhere). I wish hu had told us this back when we submitted it in December, but I cut it down by four pages last night and resubmitted it. I was too excited that it might get published to wait any longer. I hope we get an official acceptance soon.

That's annoying, but also great news that your paper is so close to publication. Congratulations!

I submitted a chapter today. After so much time of making incremental process, it feels good to be able to click "submit" on something two days in a row.

The editing fell by the wayside today (waiting on having new material submitted), so I worked on two book sections instead, for a total of 1500 words. I almost finished them both, actually.

Today, our newest TT faculty member in the department met with me because hu wanted to collaborate. We already wrote a chapter together recently but hu wants to conduct a study with me. Hu found a really interesting target journal and we were brainstorming ideas. Hu was really happy with one I shared, so we meet next week to put the IRB materials together. I keep starting new projects though when I am trying not to, ahhh! Yet, it is so fun!

More grant work today, but this time on the newer grant rather than the one that's further along and was giving me a hard time earlier this week. The newer one is tricky in its own way, but at least I got some words on the page this morning.

Today, I'm trying to wrangle the three of four co-authors who have not contributed to revision before the impending deadline. I am also meeting with my two colleagues who do not yet know each other for the new project.

Today, a book section and some editing for my partner.

I guess I lucked out, as another "hiding" co-author ended up on a zoom meeting with me today so I convinced hu to do their part so we can wrap up the manuscript revisions. I also heard from the third "missing" co-author this morning via e-mail. I really want to submit the revision next week.

The meeting between my two colleagues went well. We have a plan to get the project going, and it should be a good experience to work with them both!

While I accomplished most goals, It looks like I won't get the conditionally accepted article back out this month, and the op-ed has not found a home, despite my best efforts.

Oh well, hoping for a strong start to March.

Gonna start a new book section today, and power through the weekend to hit my month's quota.
