Heavy rains since Monday evening.  I don't know how many inches we've gotten.  I do know that I've heard two straight nights of thunder, with more this morning.  Roads are flooding.  Schools, which did not close for the eclipse, are opening late.  I'm afraid this is going to hurt a collaboration we had scheduled with the public schools for today.
If in this life only we had hope of Christ, we would be the most pathetic of them all.  But now is Christ raised from the dead, the first of those who slept.  First Christ, then afterward those who belong to Christ when he comes.

We had a hot day here in the metro Baltimore/DC area:

I stayed inside the library most of the day.

Five inches of rain at our house, after storms off and on all weekend. More heavy weather (storms and heavy rain) predicted for Thursday night. Creeks and rivers are approaching/above flood stage all over the region; the Mississippi was full of logs, trees, and debris when I crossed this morning.

No serious flooding here, but in some places out in the county roads have been temporarily impassable.  One staff member called off yesterday because the roads were so bad where she lived.

It was very bright earlier this morning.  Now it's clouding over.  We're supposed to have another long siege of rainy weather start in a couple of days.  That could cause some problems.
