Wahoo Redux

Quote from: marshwiggle on October 20, 2023, 09:34:42 AMThe days of just making everyone have to take certain things and thus keeping those disciplines viable are increasingly in the past.

Most schools, maybe all of them, still have the "lib arts" requirements.  What you are suggesting is not "past."  It is being debated.  Lib arts still have a number of advocates as well as detractors.

And as I've said, if we want job training so be it.

Again, we know all this.  What is the point?

I suspect you, Marshy, just want to claim some sort of victory over all these "liberal" things that are not STEM.
Come, fill the Cup, and in the fire of Spring
Your Winter-garment of Repentance fling:
The Bird of Time has but a little way
To flutter--and the Bird is on the Wing.

Most liberal arts schools have reduced gened or core requirements over the years, including STEM. Languages are probably most in trouble, save for Spanish. Non practical majors are losing popularity.
