I think this was mentioned somewhere else but here goes. After you post in a thread, you are sent to the subforum's listing (or, at least I am). I like to see my post after I post in in the thread. I can of course click on my profile->latest posts, but Is it possible to have your newly posted post just display in the same window after it is posted like in the old forum?
This is an individual user setting, I think. It also depends where you reply- I almost exclusively use the "quick reply" option at the bottom of the thread, and that kicks me to view my newly made post every time.
Here we go:
https://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Help,_I_keep_going_back_to_the_list_of_topics_when_I_make_a_post
My recommendation is we keep it on the per user level, and add instructions to the technical FAQ. I'll do that when I'm done with the days travels. Or maybe tomorrow.

add instructions to the technical FAQ
Quick version (on the user end):
1. Click "Profile" in the menu bar.
2. Choose "Forum Profile" from the drop-down menu.
3. Click the "Modify Profile" button.
4. Choose "Look and Layout" from the drop-down menu.
5. Check the box next to "Return to topics after posting by default."
6. Click the "Change profile" button at the bottom of the page.
EDIT: This is my first post since changing the setting, and it works!
Thanks so much for doing that!

SWEET! Thanks so much for that! Indeed, it works great. That's a good candidate for the FAQ for sure!
I have put the instructions on the FAQ thread.
