May the fifth be with you!

(Wait, looks like I'm a day late for that one...)

Your gender isn't an issue here, apl68. Your insurance will not cover your treatment should you get injured in your workplace, the library. Do get an outside vendor to take care of the mold issues in the vents.

Congrats on your 2fer, ciao_yall!

Last break, I got to 323 points, 8 more words to go.  When the lists are really long and have long words, I copy my found words out of the web interface and put them in Excel to count the numbers of letters per word, which helps somewhat.  This morning I wrote a dumb little program that takes that word list and counts the number of pangrams I have.  Getting lazy I guess? So I do have four, currently.  I figured I'd better find out rather than continuing to hunt down pangrams that weren't there.

Happy Cinco De Mayo!

(An American - or North American- holiday devoted to a minor Mexican holiday commemorating The Battle of Puebla)

Do you have any plans to mark the day?
Will there be chips and salsa?  Salsa dancing?  tequila?  Dos Equis?

None of the above?

Are there any nearby (or far-off) librarians you might reach out to who have had the same headaches? Maybe they found the pathway to library gold??

(In her best school-marm voice...))Don't you DARE go up there, young lady! You've just been injured and talking about rainbow bruises.

Do you want more? Get someone else to do it!!!!! (If there is someone else...)

It probably WILL end up being me on the ladder, since I have the longest reach on the staff.  Plus, I hate asking other staff members to do unusual things that I'm not willing to do myself.  I don't plan to do it until early next week, after I've had a few more days to recover.  I've got to get it done before Thursday, because that's when the Board of Trustees will be using the room for a meeting.

BTW--I'm sorry if I've given a wrong impression or failed to correct a mis-impression but...though I am a librarian, I am not a lady.  I'm a guy librarian.

I'm not really that young any longer either.

Bee is a slog. I think I have 3 pangrams so far. Still at "great." Still bitter about natto.

ETA: 4 pangrams, "amazing." Gonna be a while.

ETA^2: 6 pangrams, still "amazing." Beyond this point, there be dragons.

I am curious to see what it would mean to re-envisage the university through the lens of critical race theory, and a bit surprised to see the administration supportive of the project. I do wonder what the large Asian student population will make of it.

Dear Administrator,

It's finals week. Stop sending emails about things we have to do "urgently." None of it is actually that urgent. I know, I asked the person who used to have your job. Some of us have projects to collect and grade, exams to give and grade, etc., etc., etc. Your stuff can wait. It really can.

Not so warm regards,

PS - I'm filtering all your emails to a different folder for the time being

Halfway there with one pangram. It's gonna be a slog, though.
Nelson requests another trial and an impeachment of the verdict.

The lawyer is doing what he's supposed to do, but the bar to overturn a jury's verdict is high. So don't get your hopes up Mahagonny.

Oh, no, I don't think they will be successful, nor do I feel sorry about Chauvin going to jail. And I hate to disappoint you. I know you're itching to find someone who thinks Chauvin should escape without legal consequences so you can tell them off. Maybe surf around facebook till you find someone who's wrong and square off?
But that doesn't mean Nelson's complaints are entirely without merit. I would have thought if ever there was a time for a change of venue and a sequestered jury it would be this time. In fact not long ago forumites were speculating where it would be held.
And, BTW, it's just news. You don't need to get excited.
