Good morning/afternoon!

Finally made it to genius today with pangrams.  Congrats on your QBABY today and yesterday, cathwen, and to yours as well, Langue_doc! I was nowhere near yesterday.  At least I did finally make it to genius.  And somehow even though husband was also struggling, we made it to team QB.  I was missing old favorites such as lollop, lollipop, unpin, porn(o) and also pillion, which I don't recall having heard of (but must have).  We both thought prion was newly accepted.

For LB, I had throwback as my main contender and tried so hard to make it work but totally forgot about knurl! Congrats on your solutions, cathwen and Langue_doc! And congrats on getting a quick one today, ciao_yall!

Since we had such a low-key dinner, it was mostly the cleaning beforehand to prepare for our visitor that we are recovering from.  Well, that and hearing some of the college student's stories of the first semester living away.  I think it's time to up the life insurance policy.  And maybe invest in some sedatives for myself.  I definitely have my share of stories of bad decisions and unsafe circumstances, not just from college, but whew.  But we had a great convo and a lot of laughs and more this morning over brunch.  We will try to work on the tree this afternoon before they head back tomorrow to their mom's.

Happy solving!

Afternoon!

Pangram and above genius. Last word yesterday was purr.

I too had locknut/throwback.

Happy solving, and enjoying the long weekend.

Good morning!

Ciao_yall, we must be on the same wave length.  My last word was also paprika.  And my LB combo was clamber-regifted.

Today it took ages for me to get to genius, even with both pangrams.  I’m now a bit above genius, 15 words to go, and quite sure I won’t make it without help.  But I’ll persevere a little longer.

I do have a 2fer for LB, though.

Happy puzzling!

Good morning!

Well, I am not at genius again, but I do have both pangrams.  I think I'm just over 200 at the moment.  I salute your perseverance, cathwen! Yesterday we almost had team QB but were both missing kippa, which I don't think either of us would have gotten, so you both are well beyond us!

And congrats on your 2fers! I did not get anywhere with it, though I had climber at one point.  Congrats on another today, cathwen!

Happy solving!

Pangrams and genius. I don't think I'll have any time today to work on the puzzles. Haven't even looked at the crosswords since Tuesday night.

Happy solving!

QBwH and 2 new words heliacal, litchi. Kept trying lichee, litchee.

LB - got a hint for warlocks-snipe after going in circles with 3fers using wrinkles, earlock, snowplow...

Anyway, happy solving!

Good morning!

I did not make it to QB yesterday, even with hints—the one word that threw me was heliacalLitchi also gave me some trouble, as I keep wanting to spell it lichee or litchee. Today I am at genius with the pangram.

LB:  I had warlocks-spine.  Like ciao_yall, I kept trying for something with wrinkles and snowplow, to no avail.

Happy puzzling!

Good morning!

Took me a bit to get to genius, but I finally got there and do have the pangram.  We had a few left to go after comparing, needing help for calcite, litchi, helical, techie, titillate.  Husband had helical, but he pronounced it in a way that I thought it was spelled heliacal, so we were a little confused as to how we had the same # words and different points after comparing lists.

For LB, I had powerlines-sack, which I thought might be schmofficial.  Guess not! Congrats on yours as well, cathwen!

Happy solving!

Evening!

Pangram and genius this morning. Just got home having braved bumper-to-bumper traffic, heavy merges at several on/off ramps and toll plazas, and heavy downpours almost all the way back. Whew! I can't complain because I got to visit with very nice people, and also got some birding done.

Glad you got home safe, Langue_doc! That does not sound like a fun drive.  Hope you get to relax this evening.  But I'm glad you had fun before the drive.

I still have no 2fer and still have 5 bee words left.  Trying to get a ton of stuff done today since we may have a water outage tomorrow and then the whole discolored water thing.  The alert states our neighborhood but homes in areas other than our town will be affected, so who knows.   Better to be prepared.

Good morning!

It was a struggle to get to genius, but now I think I just have a couple or more words left.

Good luck with the water outage, ab_grp. Hope the repairs get completed soon.

Happy solving!

Good morning!

Got to genius with pangram.  Yesterday we had team QB, and I managed to guess my final word just before we compared (okra), so I guess QB.

I had that weird phenomenon again last night of deciding to look at LB one more time before bed and immediately getting a 2fer.  I opened it, saw zenith all of a sudden, and then saw hamburger right after! That is so weird.  I know it works for math problems and proofs and that sort of thing, but I guess it must translate somehow to this task as well.  I will keep this in my toolkit!

Thanks for the good water wishes, Langue_doc! It's certainly better to have had a heads up than just suddenly have no water.  But it's funny how much water we use for different things in a day! Husband called this morning to see if some clarity could be gained about location, but it does apply to our area, and they have no further info about when it might start, how long, etc.   Not a huge surprise on that part.  Got so much done yesterday that there's extra time for puzzles today!

Happy solving!

Good afternoon!

Yesterday was not a good puzzle day for me.  I needed help to find dolor, droll, okra, warlord and wallaroo.  And my last word?  Word!!!!  I had seen that so many times, but failed to enter it.

Today I have five words to go, all shorter ones.

And I failed to find a 2fer for LB also, and am not having any luck so far today.  But hope springs eternal!

Ab_grp, did we have different puzzles yesterday?  Mine didn’t have hamburger or zenith.  I hope your water isn’t off for long!

Happy puzzling!
