I am trying to use the plagiarism detection tools for the term papers for 50 students course.

Are there any standalone tools that are available (hopefully freeware and if not with a nominal fee) to check the plagiarism for a given document.

Your school doesn't subscribe to turnitin or something?

My school uses Turnitin, and I've been pretty happy with it

If your school doesn't have one, then I think you're out of luck and will have to rely on Google.

Our school had Turnitin.... I was able to make use of it..
