The gist seems to be that IRS approved the non-profit application despite obvious fraudulent omissions. In the past, that application might have been ill-advised, with all manner of bad consequences meted out by IRS. But for today's IRS, that approval seem completely in line with policy. Purdue's timing is perfect.
