OneMoreYear

Took break from long task tonight and am amazed I got a quick 2fer. Did not think I'd have enough brain power. Not a very clean one--several letters used multiple times, but a 2fer nonetheless.  Seems like there may be multiple answers to this one.

I'll be home alone for another hour or so, so I'll try for another LB solution.  At least it gave me time to finish the hard sudoku.   Today's timing has definitely been off!

ETA: I did get another 2fer with different words than the first one, but it is a bit repetitive.

OneMoreYear

My 2fer from yesterday: witching/graduation. Likely no puzzling today, as I did not get long task done and will be scrambling.

Happy puzzling, all!

Langue_doc

Good morning!

Pangram and genius so far. lilt was my last word yesterday. I stumbled on dicta because I was trying dictat which I mistakenly assumed to be an acceptable word.

watching/ground

ab_grp, sent you some of the roast--easy recipe, just slather with a concoction of herbs and olive oil, and roast. I made it mostly for sandwiches and got the roast because I was in the grocery store when they were putting them out on the sale-of-the-week display case. These were 2-6 lb Angus beef round roasts, so I promptly got a small one.

cathwen, hope the sock and pant pulling isn't too strenuous and that your walking is getting better.

Happy solving, all!

Morning!

QB with Shunn and grid, no 2LL! Last word was twilit.

LB - watching-ground.

Happy solving (and socking, cathwen)!

Good morning!

Congratulations on all the successes yesterday!  I missed QB by a lot of words; I just didn't have the energy to pursue it very far.  Today I am at genius with the pangram.

LB:  No solution yesterday, but I have found a 2fer today!

I just aced my physical therapy appointment and the PTs think I am ready to go home.  Mentally, I certainly am.  It should take a day or two to be processed.  Can't wait.  Today's success was washing and dressing all by myself and simulating getting in and out of a car.  Feeling positive today!

Happy puzzling!

GNP, quick 2fer.

Now to find the P.

Good morning/afternoon!

Two more words to QB, so hopefully breakfast will help.  The pangram took a while.  Yesterday my final word was await.  I got stuck in a pattern of trying things like atilt and alilt and thought... is there such a thing as a-wait? Dur.  I hate when that happens! At least I tried it and realized that it is, indeed, a word.

For LB, I got graduation-winching, watching-grounding (guess I could have shortened the latter).  So no one got the schmofficial one? Yay for different solutions!

Langue_doc, thanks for the roast! That sounds delicious.  Sometimes simplest is best.  Seems like your arrival time at the store was serendipity.  And it's great to have it for sandwiches! Enjoy!

Cathwen, congrats on your progress! That is fantastic! Sounds as though you have learned quite a bit in your time there and have worked hard to do so.  It's nice to have the supports of the rehab facility, but I'm sure being home would be preferable.  Hope you are sprung soon since you are feeling ready.

The crossword was a bit thorny today, but I finally conquered it.  I was kind of surprised at yesterday's, as that seemed a little like a Thursday.  I guess they were saving the more nontraditional one for today.  Hoping to have a more normal day today, be able to eat lunch before 4 PM and actually consider dinner before 10 PM!  Our neighbor has had some massive landscaping (really xeriscaping) being done for the past couple days, complete with some very large and loud machinery and a lot of dust, but it looks like that's complete now.  No more huge piles of rocks and dirt in the road, so hopefully the trash truck can get through! That is our excitement at the moment.

Happy solving!

I managed a QBABM, but husband beat me to it again! Good luck!

Couple LB contenders, but no solution yet.  Onto sudokus!

ciao_yall

Found the pangram. Now in my usual QB - 6-ish words slog, deciding if I need to check Shunn for the grid.

ab_grp

Got a 2fer! Somehow it just popped out at me this time.

Langue_doc

Good morning!

Pangram and genius. Too sloggy for me today.

Last words yesterday were purr and torn. I got the pangram by just putting the two words together, and it worked. I might have also heard or seen the word from reading about warfare and/or guided tours of the local forts.

champagne/elixir.

ab_grp, I was reminded of your post when I was doing the crossword.

cathwen, congratulations on your progress and so glad to hear that you're going home.

Happy solving, all!

Gah.

SB - ended up at QB -1 because I couldn't get toro for love or money.

LB - champagne-elixir as well. Anyone get anything else?

Happy solving!

ETA: Quick genius with 1 P, and a quick 2fer as well. So glad my LB mojo seems to be coming back, or Sam is easing up on us.

ab_grp

Good morning!

We didn't really start on the bee yet, as husband has an early meeting, but we will get to that right after.  I guess I was a little surprised at yesterday's pangram because Sam said something about avoiding topics that could be uncomfortable for people, so I thought maybe guns were part of that (though antifa was in there before, and obviously porn/porno and dildo, so who knows).  I think upturn was my final word.  Too many of those types in the puzzle yesterday!

I also got the schmofficial solution yesterday for LB.   Congrats on getting one today, ciao_yall, and I hope it is your mojo returning!

Langue_doc, today's crossword seems a good bit easier than the previous two days, which is weird and a bit of a blessing.  I didn't get time to finish it but just have one section left (NW).  Of course, they are long entries, so we'll see.  Yesterday's with the single blocks is unusual.  I was a little concerned that I would absolutely have to get the downs to get those theme entries but ended up guessing two out of three pretty quickly.  In any case, a little disorienting not to be able to flip back and forth between across/down on those.

Happy solving!

cathwen

Good afternoon!

I was at QB-4 yesterday—missed torn, which I could have sworn I typed in!  My LB 2fer was also champagne-elixir.

Today I am at genius with the pangram (QB-14, so a way to go), and I have a 2fer.

They're springing me from this joint on Sunday!

Happy puzzling!
