Dunno if this...

Quote
A University of Alabama vice president stepped down after he and 14 other men were busted in a prostitution sting, authorities said.

...is worthy of commentary, but I couldn't help but notice this...

Quote
The names and ages of of the remaining suspects were not available Monday. However, all were charged with soliciting prostitution

...which is just interesting considering that this is a national news headline.

So he's 50 years old and he resigned. Does he get a pension? What does a Vice president for Student Life even do all day long? Look at smut online? Apparently. Sounds like a bloated administrator to me. Time to call it what it is. Sinecure, royalty, grift.
They have appointed an interim whatever-he-was. This will end up costing the students money, won't it? That's the real crime.
Can't wait to find out who the others are.

Not me. I get furious.

Much of the public loves it when anybody is accused of something salacious. The solution is to legalize prostitution.

I love it when a supposed moral examplar is shown to be full of shit. But do we think of VPs as moral exemplars?

I didn't read the story though. I'm not that interested. I take it that the VP  was accused of paying for prostitution rather than selling his own body.

Admins tend to bestow favors for money in a rather different way.

I wonder whether the illegality of the behavior is the main reason for the resignation, or whether it was moral turpitude.

hmmm... only announce the university guy... or was it because he was a walk on to the football team?
I guess that Patriots owner Robert Kraft was busy (or learned a lesson in not getting caught).

That is what strikes me... over a dozen arrested, but only one named....

""If buyers were not seeking commercial sexual services, sex trafficking would no longer be profitable," task force commander Capt. Phil Simpson said in the release. "We hope these operations targeting buyers show that we take this very seriously. Our goal is to prevent future exploitation of human trafficking victims who are forced or coerced into prostitution.""

So WHY NOT name ALL of the buyers caught?

And there is probably an old joke  about equating legalized prostitution with marriage.  ... OR maybe it is that wives learned from a Meatloaf song  creating a demand for prostitutes by saying,  "But I wont do that"!

VP of student life isn't a mystery job.

Yeah, but 13 other guys were arrested and none of them made the national news.  Heck, we don't even have their names.

I wonder how many dudes were arrested for solicitation in North America on the same day as the VP's whoopsie.

Why would anyone want anybody's names? Legalize, and they won't ask, and the others won't tell.

No worries.

Seems like we are talking about two different things...

Neither. He made them look bad. But they are well covered.
