I view this as an exercise in quantum mechanics. Until the official decision is posted, your proposal is in both the "funded" and "not-funded" states. The wavefunction collapses into one of these two states when the official decision is posted.

This is the best way to think about it. Once the collapse has happened, you can start addressing the consequences.

I love this-- I described it to a friend as waiting for the coin to stop spinning-- there's nothing you can do and it does no good to try to predict-- but I like the quantum analogy even better. Schrodinger's grant proposal.

Update: The status date changed and the status is still pending. I guess my proposal got rejected :-(
