I can't believe we don't have this thread yet!

Student peering through my office doorway:  Is there a printer?
Me: Hmm?
Student: Do you have a printer?
Me: For?
Student holds out flash drive: I need to print an essay.  It's for [basketweaving] class, due at blah, blah, blah [long explanation]
Me: There are printers for students in the library.
Student: Oh.

It's the seventh week of the term.  Pretty sure the student has needed to print things before.

Student opens my closed office door and asks, "Can you make the classroom across the hall cooler?"

"You mean, with just my presence? No."
