Making 3-D spinning images for on-line class

Looks like I'll be going fully on-line for the fall. I need to be able to show images of things that don't show well in 2d. Has anyone worked with any program where you can develop something like those spinnable 3-D images you can find on some shopping sites?

I've used a Merge Cube at a colleague's demonstration on their use for virtual 3D in teaching; might be worth a peek.
