Attendance verification for online courses.

Per the NASFAA document above:
"an institution must demonstrate that a student participated in class or was otherwise engaged in an academically-related activity, such as by contributing to an online discussion or initiating contact with a faculty member to ask a course-related question."

This is really broad and not hard to do. Pretty much any online activity in a class other than simply reading things can accomplish it. In fact, an email to a faculty member is probably enough to count.

In our case, fully online classes have to include the syllabus quiz, and yes, there is a staff member who checks to see that it's done.  For our institution, it allows us to fulfill the federal (and any accreditor) requirements for engagement during the No Show period, without forcing another type of assignment on the faculty.
