Wow, you did dodge a bullet there, fishbrains.  As I type this, one of our staff is busily trying to clean out a desktop pen holder at the circulation desk that had a pen leak in it.  Having one leak in the laundry hardly bears thinking about!

Yeah, we don't talk about the blue Sharpie laundry incident of 2008.

We're expecting hatchling 2 in June. It was planned and desired, but also, June is not at all a good time, since we'll be moving into the teeny tiny house, which is going to be very, very tiny for all four of us (and two cats), and the loft situation will be pretty non-ideal for my partner, who will have lain the egg, and for H1 being woken up by H2. Oh well.

Guess it'll be an adventure.
I know it's a genus.

Congrats on hatchling #2! Although the housing situation doesn't sound ideal, it will certainly be an adventure. Hopefully being summer you can all spend a lot of time outside -- maybe a big a big tent?

Congratulations to the Para family and best wishes for the safe arrival of H2, and for great adjustment of H1!

I think many of us grew up in much tinier houses than is the norm today and we shared everything without permanent damage. Get rid of all the stuff that you can. Especially in the summer, the kids will need less things immediately and by the time winter comes people will have grown more accustomed.

I think the 2Hs will thrive, and maybe H2 may like earplugs when sleeping.  If H2 is primed beforehand to expect and ignore midnight cries, they will learn to sleep through it.
We learned to just not hear all the emergency vehicles and choppers coming and going every couple of hours or so, living in grad student housing next to a major hospital way back then. It will all be good and the days will fly.  Next thing you know, they will be headed to Kindergarten and thence to college.

Hooray--what a durable pen!  I'm a Pilot G2 girl myself, but that makes me want to try your Bic Atlantis.

I also like the pilot G2 --- have you tried the 0.38 weight?  I'm never going back.

I got up early this morning to get my morning routine done, vote, and get to campus for three meetings. Two of them just got cancelled.

No, I haven't tried those.  Recently I've been using some Pilot Juice Up pens I got in Asia, which are about that fine (0.3-0.4), and they feel kind of luxurious.  However, I use G2 07 for most of my grading.  The narrower ones don't bleed enough ink to really make my points clear about student failings.
