I am about to submit revisions for a journal article. In composing the (required) cover letter, I am wondering if it is ok to address it to both Editor and Associate Editor. I know the convention is to address the editor but maybe this is changing? They both made helpful comments on the manuscript although most of the communication was through the journal manager. A solution would be to address it to "Editors" but long ago I was told this anonymity was annoying.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Myword

Nothing is wrong with mentioning their names. Dr.---- or Professor------
It's what you say after that matters.

If it is a revision, I would normally usually address the editor who handled the original submission, regardless of whether that person is AE or EiC. If both were involved, the mention them both or use the wording you suggested.

I normally keep these cover letters extremely short and to the point. The way you addressed the reviewers' comments is far more important anyway.

Shrug. I don't think it makes a difference. The changelog is what matters for revisions.
I know it's a genus.
