ergative

I have redone all my analyses, and addressed all of the 'major' issues in my Big Paper, and now am tackling the 'minor issues'. But they're all things like, motivate in detail why you bothered to use such obviously flawed data, or else readers won't have any reason to finish reading the paper. I've already increased the paper's length by 7 pages (and it was pushing the wordcount limit to begin with), and if I add a new paragraph for each 'minor issue' I'm going to add another 7. Maybe I'll push this off on the co-authors.

Anyway, today's goal: make a plan (either revise paper or make notes for co-authors to address) for all remaining 'minor issues'.

Good going, ergative! It sounds like you've done a ton of work on that paper.

I ... kind of outlined my theory paper? I brainstormed about what I wanted to say and wrote down a bunch of streams-of-consciousness thoughts that eventually kind of cohered into something useful? I then made a list of the main points that I want to make in this paper, which I think can serve as section headers. It's not a particularly fleshed out outline, but I have a better sense now of what I want to say in this paper than I did before I started this process, so that's something.

Lost the last couple of days to my kidney stone. I'll try to put an hour or so into the book proposal today, before the pain kicks in again.
I know it's a genus.

I think you deserve the "trooper of the week" award for keeping your work moving along despite your health issues!

I tried, but the meds left me a bit too dizzy today. I'll try again tomorrow/Sunday.

Happy Monday! Earlier in this thread, I mentioned a paper that my co-author and I are now planning to separate into two separate manuscripts. Over the weekend he sent me a draft of a stand-alone paper based on half of that bigger paper, and my goal for today is to go through at least the introduction, methods, and results.

Circumstances allowing, today is for the book proposal.

I got an acceptance on Saturday night for my Research Award-winning study! I shared a bottle of cava with my husband and friends at a social distance. I am presenting the research in two weeks virtually and now get to reference a forthcoming article. Time for Mamselle's happy dance!

You've got it!

Salsa, Cha-cha, or a kolo?

That is amazing, congratulations!!

I realized that I needed to write a different thing before jumping into the paper that was my main goal for today. I spent a few hours on other thing and then did the intro of main-goal paper. Will try to do the methods and results tomorrow.

That was supposed to have been a "kolo"...

Auto-correct re-"corrected" it a second time and I missed it, sorry!

Anyway, we'll be dancing online tomorrow night; I'll dedicate one to you then!

Done, and the proposal is just about done. It's fully drafted, and now just needs some touching up. Phew!

OK, I'll PM you with the list--and the link to the dance--if you like!
