Another day likely to be disrupted by stuff, but I'm starting early to try to get stuff done:

  • Review Co-Authored Paper 2 as it currently stands.
  • Meet with Co-Author 2.
  • Put some real work into July Paper. Only 11 days left!
I know it's a genus.

July Goals:

  • Get paper #1 under review - finalizing with coauthor now and we should be able to get it out soon... but this paper has had its share of setbacks so fingers crossed
  • Get paper #2 under review - got some feedback from colleagues, need to make a few edits before submitting, also coordinating with coathors but I think we are all wanting to get it out the door asap
  • Make progress on paper #3 (this is R&R) - working with coauthors to finalize; due to journal in August but I'd like to get it out in July
  • Complete and submit book chapter - about 2/3s complete and due at the end of July

Stretch Goals (if all other things are done early):

  • Submit IRB for new project
  • Make some progress on new paper with colleague

nonsensical

I drafted a section of one of my outlined papers today. I did not want to do it, but there are now more words on the page than there used to be.

I only managed an addition 650 words for July Paper, which is disappointing. It still needs a lot of work before it's anywhere near ready. But I guess tomorrow might be better.

Co-Authored Paper 2 is back on track, though, so that's good! We finally managed to hammer out a direction for it.

Happy Friday! Long-neglected paper is done and my co-author is going to double-check everything before we meet Sunday. It is probably too long for the reviewers but it is really cool and I am so proud of it. We plan to submit it Sunday after we meet.

mamselle

Cheers!! Good for you.

I'm continuing to work on all the things I said I'd do.

Hope to finish one or two today.

Maybe.

July Paper, July Paper, July Paper.

I only accomplished the first two of my tasks yesterday and today I need to attend to new writing tasks from grad students plus I'm behind on my self-imposed schedule for course prep, so will have to postpone the second two yet again.
1. Yet another round of discussion section comments for MA student
2. Feedback on paper draft from grad student #3

July Paper, July Paper, July Paper.

You can do it Parasaurolophus! Maybe some pomodoros with treats in between?

Or how about a tasty raptor or two, just for kicks?

Thanks for the encouragement! Happily, I'm pretty good at focusing all my attention on a task for extended periods, so I only really need pomodoro for marking :)

I managed 933 words today, so now it's proper paper-length. It's not quite in submittable shape, but it's getting there! Ten days (well, 6-8, since I probably won't do any weekend working) should be enough to get it done.
I know it's a genus.

Getting more done on one of the PPts, still more to do.

The Lunch and Dinner threads are 'way too enticing, though...

Sunday afternoons are so nice for cooking....

mamselle, I agree! My spouse actually requested a meal at 4:30 so I made a very early dinner. It was so good I had to eat some myself! Yesterday I made "edible cookie dough" (without eggs) and now that is dangerously tempting.

My co-author and I just submitted long-neglected paper and I am so relieved. We are going to start on the second manuscript with the additional data shortly. Yay for a productive Sunday!

mamselle

Hmm....shall we meet over on the "Dessert" thread and you can tell my how to make cookie dough without eggs?

(I have my own methods but am always interested in others...)

Just so as not to distract all the nice, hard-working folks on this thread....
