I've been swamped with things, but I'm trying to get something out by the end of the month
Done
Sep-Early Oct: Revised pending comments for colleagues and self for paper draft (this was my August goal, but oh well)

Must do
By end Oct: finish final review/proofing/formatting and send to journal 1

Ambitious goal:
Restart stalled co-authored project and find way to update for post-COVID

Suppose I should get my act together and try to finish Book Proposal.
I know it's a genus.

I edited a few pages of a student's theory paper. Progress.

Goals for October:

  • Send book chapter back to editor with what I hope will be the final set of revisions
  • Make progress on very difficult R&R, which is due back to the journal at the end of November
  • Make progress on data collection project and accompanying paper. Step one is to get new RAs on payroll and on task
  • Finish putting together survey for new project

Reach goals:
  • Send out survey mentioned above
  • Deal with project that I hate and that I thought was dead, but that has been revived by my coauthor, who is very enthusiastic about this project

Did it, and sent it. Whew. That's a load off my shoulders. And if this revised proposal fails, shrug. Whatevs. I don't have enough time for my regular writing projects anyway.
I know it's a genus.

That is great news, Parasaurolophus! I keep sending my co-author chapters to read that my library lets me download 35 pages at a time, so it has taken all week and I need to get one more chapter to hu. I scheduled time to work on various projects this coming week, but my calendar is filling up with advising appointments. Our Spring course schedule is still being updated as faculty figure out modalities, so registration was pushed back.

More research done, a few more draft pages written, and now its dinnertime.

Will revise, add visuals, and do fact-checking stuff, plus download 6 probated wills, tomorrow.

Feeling pretty energized today/this week, so in between teaching-related stuff, I'm going to chip away at three things:

  • November Commentary
  • 1/2 Referee Reports (probably just reading 1 submission today)
  • Co-Authored Paper 1
I know it's a genus.

I went through and edited/revised a full IRB proposal (which is pretty long and detailed at my university) for a new study today. Research can't happen without their approval so I count that as research progress.

Only minimal progress on the two non-reading tasks, but still. It was a busy day, not least because I had, like, 100 quinces to peel, cut, and freeze.
I know it's a genus.

Some work on Co-Authored Paper 1 today.

I did not know what a quince was before this moment - thank you for introducing me to them!

After doing the IRB yesterday, I also finished commenting on a student's theoretical paper. Today, I reviewed a different student's empirical paper, which was pretty easy going because we've done a few rounds on this paper before and it's almost ready to submit.

Whoops, forgot to update yesterday.

Today:

  • Light touchups on Foggy Paper to prep for submission.
  • Some progress on Commentary.
  • More progress on Co-Authored Paper 1.
I know it's a genus.

Good enough. I'm done in for the day.

July Paper was accepted this morning in a very good journal. Yay! That gives me 8 for 2020.

Lots of teaching today, followed by at least one of the town hall Q&As early this evening, so I'm not planning on achieving much. But I'd like to plug away at Co-Authored Paper 1.
