That is good news, Parasaurolophus!
I just cranked out my sections in the book chapter draft I am working on with three co-authors. No one had written anything yet, and we meet on Monday to discuss progress (with a target draft date of 12/18 since it is due in January). I am pleased that i was able to do that relatively quickly, plus I added our references that we had gathered so they can cite them without having to fix up the reference list.
I also finished grading papers this morning after doing that all day yesterday with a few left to do today. Next week is just packed with meetings, teaching, and grading, so I am relieved to have a few days without a lot of work-related pressure at this point.

Parasaurolophus

Thanks!

I'm busy with teaching-related tasks today, but I should take a little time later to have a look at the referee comments on the book proposal and start crafting responses for the series editor to take into the publishing meeting.

Edited about half of a paper for an R&R today.

Parasaurolophus

Today, I will finish crafting the response for the series editor.

Great news: I received the proof for my other article coming out before the end of the year. I addressed the queries and edited the text as requested, then sent to my co-authors for their review and edits. It is due back next week already (ayiyi) so I hope my colleagues will respond soon with edits or approval. Since I have now heard from both journals, I am relieved and will expect the articles to both show up online on December 31st (yes, I am being smug).

Today, I should put some work into Co-Authored Paper 1.

November goals:

  • Finish R&R #1 and get it out the door
  • Start and make progress on R&R #2
  • Finish R&R #3 and get it out the door
  • Make progress on ongoing data collection project and accompanying paper (fortunately RAs doing much of the work on this at the moment)

Stretch goals:

  • Distribute survey for project with colleagues

Looks like I won't get around to starting the R&R #2 or distributing the survey, but those will be priorities in December.  In the meantime, R&R #1 has been sent back to the journal.

More work on Co-Authored Paper 1 today.

Edited about half of a paper for an R&R today.

Finished the other half of this paper today and sent to co-authors for some final minor things. I'm hoping to submit this paper this week, but it depends on when I hear back from them.

Just got the difficult R&R from October goals back; it's accepted! (Sadly I've accomplished nothing in November.)

Congratulations! I got a R&R on Saturday night and it is due in early January, yikes! Luckily I have several co-authors so I delegated. However, one had a family member pass away so I left hu out of doing anything. I had a productive meeting today with my book chapter team, and we are on track to meet our January deadline too.

More work on Co-Authored Paper 1 today.

Did it. Think I can finish it with another day's work. Probably Wednesday, because I have too many teaching tasks for tomorrow.

Review of the month:

I'm out of deadlines for now, so I'm not sure what November should look like. I guess:

  • Get a revamped draft of Co-Authored Paper 1 out there.
  • Finish the last touches on Foggy Paper and send it out.
  • Work on Rejected Paper or Co-Authored Paper 2?

I only finished the second thing, but it got rejected and resent. And I nearly finished the first, and will have it done soon. Plus I read and commented on two papers by friends, and I think I refereed a thing, too. So: not bad. But December will be more structured. I have some concrete tasks for December.

Well done! I also have an R&R for January, and it's a tricky one, so I'll be right there with you throughout December!

Congratulations to everyone on their November accomplishments! I just started a December thread; please join me there.
