I did some more writing (~500 words), cutting up sections and re-pasting them, and polishing, and I think I've untangled all the knots but for one relatively minor one, which will have to wait until tomorrow.

The paper's a bit long once again, but it's also much stronger, so there's that!

Last night the research team met since we were not of sound mind to meet last Wednesday after the day's events. The student on our team magically pasted hu's literature review and asked us for feedback, and we all agreed on some content to add that all of us had read and put notes in a separate document previously. The manuscript just needs a little reorganization and references to the lit in discussion, so we all feel confident it can be submitted at the end of the month. This is the second half of the rejected paper from the summer. We meet next week before our semester starts. I also conducted interviews with participants yesterday for my new study, and have a few tomorrow.

My productivity declined in the end of 2020.  Then I blinked and it's the middle of January now.  I need to finish and submit a manuscript this month, and get working on organizing data for a new project.

All done! Next task, either Sunday or next week, will be a referee report and four book sections, and I should probably get started on a book chapter I owe at the end of the year.

Congrats to everyone on all of your progress! I have finished commenting on a grad student's paper and submitted a referee report. Particularly happy about the first of those things because I think the paper will be ready to submit once the student makes a few final, and relatively small, changes.

Today's plan is just to finish the referee report. I got another in the mail yesterday, but that's just a revision of a conditional acceptance. I might get to that too, we'll see.

Finished my last interview with a participant for my "new project" with subfield colleague, unless someone else signs up this week. I am glad we did this project as it has been truly fascinating. Next up is transcribing the interviews, but not until after I get done with the first week of the semester.

My research team meets Wednesday and we will try to finish our manuscript to submit by the end of the month for the "second half of rejected summer manuscript."
